Accordingly, 2 bodies were found about 2km apart. One victim was discovered in Tien Phong village, the other was found on the coast of Thanh Xuan village, both in Bac Trach commune, Quang Tri province. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Be, the owner of the sunken fishing boat, the 2 bodies above are Mr. Nguyen Van Canh (born 1994), residing in Dong Thap; the remaining body is Mr. Tran Hoang Tho (born 1984) in An Giang , the captain.
It is known that throughout last night until the early morning of September 30, the Army, Police, and Border Guard forces of Quang Tri province mobilized a large number of officers, soldiers, and machinery to coordinate with related units to salvage the sunken fishing boat, and at the same time divided into many teams to search for the victims of the sinking boat.
As previously reported by CAND Newspaper; at 11:30 p.m. on September 28, two fishing boats BV-92756.TS and BV-92754.TS owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Be (residing in Ho Chi Minh City), with 13 fishermen on board, were anchored to avoid the storm on the northern bank of Gianh River, in Bac Gianh Ward, when their anchor ropes suddenly broke and they drifted freely between the whirlwind and the strong current. Four fishermen were lucky to swim to shore, while nine fishermen were missing.
Quang Tri Provincial Police are currently performing autopsies and continuing to verify the victims' identities to notify their families and carry out legal procedures.
