An Giang calls for support for people affected by storms and floods

On behalf of the Congress Presidium, comrade Tran Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province delivered the launching speech.

He said that storm No. 10 left very serious consequences in terms of people and property.

“Every hour, every minute, news about collapsed houses, swept away by floodwaters; flooded fields; people's lives turned upside down; tears of people in flooded areas; the loss of lives has touched the hearts of each of us,” said comrade Tran Thi Thanh Huong .

In the solemn atmosphere of the congress, the fundraising activity received positive response, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and affection of the Party Committee and people of An Giang towards the people in the flood-affected areas.

Along with that, with the consensus of the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province launched and earnestly called on agencies, units, business organizations and people inside and outside the province to join hands and share with the people to overcome difficulties.

Each cadre, civil servant, public employee, armed force member, and person receiving salary from the state budget contributes at least one day's salary; cadres, civil servants, and laborers at the commune level contribute according to their ability; collectives of agencies, units, enterprises, and people, depending on their conditions, can contribute in many forms.

All donated resources will be aggregated, public, transparent and promptly transferred to the Relief Mobilization Committee to be delivered to people in damaged provinces.
