Manager Erik ten Hag has always dreamed of having De Jong in the Manchester United squad.
According to journalist Achraf Ben Ayad, Barca continues to be in dire financial straits and will need to sell off some of their star players to register new ones and avoid punishment from La Liga.
The source said that De Jong is once again on the list and Barca will sell him if they receive a good offer.
In a recent statement about his future, De Jong expressed his happiness and his desire to continue playing at Nou Camp. However, the Dutch midfielder also admitted that no one can predict the future.
Last summer, MU spent most of their time pursuing De Jong, and Barca agreed to sell him, but the midfielder refused to negotiate, even though his former coach Erik ten Hag tried to persuade him.
De Jong has shown his importance to Barca this past season and coach Xavi will certainly need him even more in the new campaign.
However, it remains to be seen whether Barca will try to "push" De Jong out again.

MU is considering buying Mohammed Kudus.
ESPN reports that manager Erik ten Hag is considering bringing Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus to Manchester United.
Manchester United targeted Chelsea's Mason Mount, and the midfielder had agreed to play at Old Trafford. However, after three bids were rejected by Chelsea, the Red Devils decided to abandon the deal.
Manchester United's final offer for Mason Mount was £55 million, including £5 million in add-ons. But Chelsea wanted more, despite the England international having only one year left on his contract and being adamant about not renewing it.
Among the targets Manchester United have chosen as a replacement for Mason Mount is Kudus, with whom manager Erik ten Hag previously worked at Ajax. The Red Devils' manager believes Kudus's playing style is well-suited to the Premier League.

Did MU not sign De Gea's contract extension at the last minute?
David de Gea faces an uncertain future, as his contract with Manchester United expires on June 30th.
According to British media reports, Manchester United initially offered De Gea a salary reduction from £375,000 per week to £200,000 per week, and he agreed, only waiting for the contract extension to be signed.
However, after the 2022/23 season ended, manager Ten Hag changed his mind about the goalkeeping position. He was dissatisfied with De Gea's lack of ball control and inconsistent mentality in important matches.
The Dutch coach himself suggested that the club's management withdraw the contract offer to De Gea, even though both sides had basically agreed on the terms.
Instead, MU sent a second offer with a much lower salary. This move disappointed De Gea, making him less keen to stay at Old Trafford.
Several Saudi Arabian clubs are currently trying to lure De Gea with attractive salaries. However, he is also considering returning to his home country to play for a La Liga club.
As for Manchester United, manager Ten Hag has also listed three potential targets to replace De Gea next season.
Leading the list is Andre Onana, valued at over £40 million by Inter Milan. In addition, David Raya (Brentford) and Diogo Costa (Porto) are two backup options.
Onana is a modern goalkeeper, possessing excellent footwork and passing skills under pressure. He demonstrated this in the recent Champions League final against Man City.
Coach Ten Hag also understands the abilities and qualities of the Cameroonian goalkeeper well, as the two previously worked together at Ajax.
