The first attack occurred last weekend, during the match between Poland and the Netherlands. The second incident took place on June 21st, preventing fans from watching the match between Poland and Austria online.
TVP quickly coordinated with domestic network operators to resolve the issue and restore service. However, the incident caused considerable frustration among Polish football fans.
Pawel Olszewski, Poland's Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs, said there is evidence that Russian hackers are behind these attacks. Their aim may be to prevent Poles from watching national team matches online.
In response to this situation, TVP has launched an alternative website to stream the remaining Euro 2024 matches online, including Poland's final match against France.
