TKV: Competing to undertake key projects

Việt NamViệt Nam19/02/2025

Besides boosting coal production and consumption, units within the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (TKV) are currently actively launching emulation campaigns to undertake many key projects. These projects are being urgently accelerated, striving to become operational, thereby helping TKV units stabilize production and business operations.

Ha Long Coal Company is striving to put the auxiliary shaft hoisting system into operation by mid-March 2025.

In July 2024, the installation of the auxiliary shaft tower, auxiliary shaft hoisting system, control and communication equipment for the +35/-500 auxiliary vertical shaft of the Khe Chàm II-IV Underground Mining Project (Ha Long Coal Company) officially commenced. The project has a total investment of over 500 billion VND. This is a key project recognized by the Party Committee of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group as a project to celebrate the 4th Party Congress of the Group, term 2025-2030.

This project involves the installation of a four-tiered cage-style transport system with a capacity of 160 people per trip. The transport load reaches 21,000 kg per trip. This is a landmark project in the application of mechanization and the improvement of transportation conditions for miners working underground.

After more than 7 months of construction, the project has reached over 90% completion. The contractor has basically completed several important items such as: the winch house, the power system installation, the winch installation, and the well tower installation. Currently, the contractor is continuing to focus on installing the main winch system, including a 4-tier cage, laying steel cables, and installing the tail cable down to the -500 level; dismantling the operating platform, completing the connection of guide rails inside the well and on the well tower; installing the signaling, control, and communication systems at the -350 and +35 levels; completing the wellhead cover; and installing the lighting system for the winch house and well tower.

It is expected that by early March 2025, the auxiliary shaft hoisting system will be put into operation under load for testing purposes; by mid-March 2025, the project will be licensed for operation. Once the auxiliary shaft hoisting system is operating stably, it will help shorten travel time from the +35 level to the -350 level platform by 40 to 60 minutes compared to using cable car systems, double hoists, etc., increasing useful working time in the mine faces, thereby contributing to a 15-20% increase in labor productivity. This will help Ha Long Coal Mine stabilize production and business in the coming years.

Hon Gai Coal Sorting Company is the main coal consumer in the Ha Long area. Currently, the company's coal loading, unloading, and sales activities mainly take place at Lang Khanh port. To link production with environmental protection, Hon Gai Coal Sorting Company has recently invested in many key environmental projects. A prime example is the project to invest in a dust treatment system at berth cluster No. 3 of Lang Khanh port, completed at the end of November 2024.   Construction has commenced. The project has a total investment of nearly 80 billion VND. This is one of 11 projects approved by the Party Committee.   The Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group has selected and recognized projects and tasks to celebrate the 4th Party Congress of the Group, term 2025-2030.

The project involves installing a dust barrier system with a total length of 1,352m and a height of 14m, surrounding the coal storage area at berth cluster No. 3. The project components are being installed in conjunction with the coal storage system. After more than three months of construction, the project is now largely complete. It is expected that the Dust Treatment System Investment Project at berth cluster No. 3 of Lang Khanh Port will officially be operational by the end of March 2025.

According to the leaders of Hon Gai Coal Sorting Company, the Lang Khanh port area has been approved by TKV (Vietnam Coal Corporation) as one of the five areas requiring a comprehensive environmental protection plan. The project to invest in a dust treatment system at berth cluster No. 3 of Lang Khanh port is a key item that the company is urgently working to complete on schedule. Once operational, it will minimize dust, contribute to air quality protection, and improve working conditions for employees. At the same time, it will help Hon Gai Coal Sorting Company realize its goal of "greening" the Lang Khanh port area.

Towards   welcome   At the 4th Party Congress of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group (TKV), for the 2025-2030 term, all units of TKV registered to undertake 1-2 grassroots-level emulation projects. From these projects, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group selected 11 key projects to be marked with commemorative plaques, with a total investment of over 11,000 billion VND. In addition to the two projects mentioned above, there are many other outstanding projects, such as: the Ammonia Production Plant Construction Project (Mining Chemical Industry Corporation); the Tan Yen - Dong Trang Bach Mine Underground Mining Project (Uong Bi Coal Company); the Ha Rang Mine Expansion Underground Mining Project (Hon Gai Coal Company)...

Currently, TKV is realizing its goal of developing "three transformations" (mechanization, automation, and informatization). Investing in the aforementioned key projects during this period is crucial.   It has strategic significance for the development of TKV in the coming period. When put into operation, it will not only...   This helps TKV's units improve techniques, innovate, modernize coal mining operations, and enhance production capacity. At the same time, it contributes to improving working conditions and increasing productivity for workers.
