Overview of police and military school admissions

According to the plan of the Ministry of Public Security , in 2023, the enrollment quotas of the People's Public Security academies and Universities will be determined for each school, each region, each industry, each subject (male, female), and each enrollment method.

Admission by 3 methods

Major General - Associate Professor, Dr. Do Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of Training, said that in 2023, the Ministry of Public Security will maintain the same method of enrolling new regular university students as in 2022. In which, method 1 is to directly admit candidates who won first prizes in national and international excellent student competitions or national and international science and technology competitions.

Method 2 is to consider international language certificates. Method 3 is to combine the results of the Ministry of Public Security's assessment test and high school graduation exam scores. The Ministry of Public Security's assessment test in 2023 is scheduled to be held on July 2 and 3. Candidates will come to complete procedures at the academies and the Police Academy on Sunday (July 2), and the exam will be held on Monday (July 3).

The high school graduation exam combination includes: A00 (math, physics, chemistry), A01 (math, physics, English), B00 (math, chemistry, biology), C00 (literature, history, geography), C03 (literature, math, history), D01 (math, literature, English), D04 (math, literature, Chinese). The Ministry of Public Security's assessment exam includes: CA1, CA2, in which the security and police professional groups recruit the combination A00, A01, C03, D01 and the CA1, CA2 exams.

Information security (cyber security and high-tech crime prevention) recruits with combination A00, A01 and exam CA1. Party building and state administration recruits with combination A01, C00, C03, D01 and exam CA1, CA2.

The engineering and logistics majors consider the combination of A00, A01 and the CA1 exam. The fire prevention and rescue major considers the combination of A00 and the CA1 exam. The English language major considers the combination of A01, D01 and the CA1, CA2 exams. The Chinese language major considers the combination of D01, D04 and the CA1, CA2 exams. The medical major sent for training at the Military Medical Academy considers the combination of B00 and the CA1 exam.

The Security Academy recruits 390 students for 2 training programs at the academy and 50 students for medical training at the Military Medical Academy. The People's Police Academy recruits 530 students, the People's Public Security Political Academy recruits 100 students, the People's Security University recruits 260 students, the People's Police University recruits 420 students, the University of Engineering and Logistics recruits 100 students, and the Fire Prevention and Fighting University recruits 100 students.

Only one wish can be registered.

In 2023, military academies and schools will enroll more than 4,300 students for military undergraduate and college programs. Of which, the Military Technical Academy will enroll more than 450 students for military engineering training, the Military Medical Academy will enroll more than 340 students, the Army Officer School 1 will enroll more than 490 students, and the Information Officer School will enroll more than 320 students...

Candidates can only register one wish (the first wish, the highest wish) for a military school right from the time of making the preliminary application (if the school has many training majors, candidates can only register for one major); the remaining wishes candidates register for schools outside the military, the registration is carried out according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

For military schools, candidates who have submitted their preliminary application to one school, if they wish, can still adjust their application to another military school according to the following school groups: Group 1 includes the following academies: Logistics, Navy, Border Guard, Air Defense - Air Force (command and staff system) and officer schools: Army 1, Army 2, Politics, Special Forces, Artillery, Armored, Chemical, Information, Engineering. Group 2 includes the following academies: Military Engineering, Military Medicine, Military Science.

For academies and schools that simultaneously consider the following combination of math, physics, chemistry (combination A00) and math, physics, English (combination A01), a common benchmark will be applied for combination A00 and combination A01.

Candidates who are eligible for the standard score based on their permanent residence in the South must meet the following conditions: permanent residence registration from Quang Tri province and below; the period of permanent residence registration from Quang Tri province and below (as of September of the year of application) must be at least 3 consecutive years, must have studied in grade 12 and taken the high school graduation exam in the Southern provinces. If there are many candidates with the same score, the number of admitted candidates exceeds the assigned quota, the school will use the scores of the subjects in the admission combination as secondary criteria for admission.

Examining international certificates in 7 foreign languages

In the international certificate admission method, this year the Ministry of Public Security also plans to add international language certificates that are allowed for direct admission, including: Spanish (DELE), French (DELF C1), Russian (TRKI 3), German C1, Japanese (JLPT N1), Korean (TOPIK II Level 4), Italian (CELI 4).

This is to attract candidates with high foreign language proficiency, especially those languages that the Ministry of Public Security currently cannot train in police academies and schools. This is a suitable source of officers to send to study in countries that have training cooperation with the Ministry of Public Security.
