On the afternoon of July 2, a group of parents whose children participated in the 6th grade entrance exam at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (referred to as Tran Dai Nghia 6th grade) in 2025 continued to have feedback about the 6th grade entrance exam at this school.

According to a parent, in question 2 of the "math and logical thinking" test, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training accepted all 3 answers: "0 ways", "8 ways" and "48 ways" and added points to all candidates with these 3 answers, which is not in accordance with the given problem.

"Obviously this question only has 1 answer "0 ways", but the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City accepts all 3 answers. This math problem is wrong and not strict, causing many candidates to lose the opportunity to get points on this test.

When grading the exam, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training accepted all three answers, causing students who tried to solve the exam to waste time thinking about a wrong math problem, leading to unfair exam results," a parent was upset.

Also with question 2 of the "math and logical thinking" test, many parents think that this question was taken from the "AMC American math test", but the translation into Vietnamese is not clear (compared to the English test).

That makes question 2 of the "math and logical thinking" test give incorrect results, causing students to lose opportunities.

The next issue that many parents have reported is that question 1 in the "math and logical thinking" section has 2 test papers. Many students received test papers with only 3 illustrations, while many students received test papers with 4 illustrations.

Specifically, sentence 1 is as follows: "The soft drink cans are arranged in each box according to the rule: the first box has 1 can, the second box has 7 cans, the third box has 19 cans and so on (illustration below).

a) How many cans of soft drinks are there in the fifth box?

b) Ask how many cans of soft drinks are in the tenth box?"

In the answer sheet provided by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, there are 4 illustrations, but many parents reported that their children only received an exam with 3 illustrations.

"Having 3 illustrations in a rule problem is not enough basis and data to come up with an accurate rule, leading to children thinking and giving different results from the department's answer. A contest with 2 exam questions is unfair to the candidates," said a parent.

Responding to Tuoi Tre Online on the afternoon of July 2, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City - affirmed: "The exam questions were printed from one exam paper, so there were no 2 illustrations for question 1 as parents reported."

Regarding other complaints from parents, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said they have received questions from parents, and in cases of questions about the results, parents have submitted appeals.
