On the afternoon of November 17, 2025, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper held an award ceremony for two writing contests: "Beloved Teacher" for the 4th time and "Kindness around us" for the 3rd time.
The writing contest "Beloved Teacher" honors the silent teachers - those who every day "carry books up the mountains", "bring letters to distant lands", sowing seeds of knowledge in places with many difficulties and shortages.
Held right before the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20, the award ceremony is a special occasion to express gratitude to those who have silently devoted themselves to the cause of educating people.
This year, the contest received more than 200 entries from readers from all over the country. The organizing committee selected 25 entries to be published in the Lao Dong Newspaper and entered them into the final round.
The first prize of the contest went to the work " Ho Chi Minh City teachers persistently carry books up the mountain " by author Hoang Nguyen Van Nhi. The article tells the story of female teachers carrying books to remote villages - where sometimes just one book can change a child's childhood.

Teachers share humane actions to bring books to students
Touched by the story, Editor-in-Chief of the Lao Dong Newspaper, To Dinh Tuan, decided to donate 10 million VND from the profits of the book "30 Years of Journalism" and give 100 more coats to send to students in the highlands - where teachers are diligently teaching.

Young author Van Nhi also choked up and shared:
Many characters from the articles that came out of the pages were present at the ceremony, such as teacher Ngo Tran Thinh, who was called by students as the person who "brought the profession into the classroom"; or the image of teacher Nguyen Thi Minh Tam who steadfastly overcame the incident to continue teaching... All contributed to making the exam season meaningful and touching.

On this occasion, the Party Committee - Editorial Board of the Lao Dong Newspaper presented flowers to congratulate teachers on Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20.
The 3rd "Kindness Around Us" contest in 2024 - 2025 depicts ordinary but compassionate people. The contest received more than 400 entries, each story is a warm bright spot in everyday life.
First prize went to the work "The story of Mr. Hung digging up martyrs' graves" by author Nguyen Duy Hien.

Many other articles also caused strong emotions. The second prize winning work: "The village chief for the people in the Northwest" recreates the image of the brave village chief who saved 90 people from the historic flood in Dien Bien .
The group of young people in the article "Rescue girls in the dark" (HCMC) - people in their twenties, each with a different job but united in the spirit of being ready to help people in distress.
Or the story of Dr. Dao Thi Chau Ha (Federal Republic of Germany), the character in the article "Vietnamese Ambassador in Europe", who still preserves the Vietnamese language and spreads her homeland's culture to foreign lands every day.
The entries from all over the world not only tell touching stories, but also remind us to appreciate the people who are quietly doing good things every day.
The journey of writing - telling - listening - sharing in the two contests is like a red thread connecting human love: from the mountains to the cities, from the podium to places searching for martyrs' remains, from the eyes of students to kind hearts in everyday life.
From the success of the two contests, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper launched the 5th "Beloved Teacher" and the 4th "Kindness around us" in 2025 - 2026, continuing the journey of spreading love, so that beautiful things do not stop at just one contest season, but become a source that flows forever in the community.
