On the evening of November 17, at Phu Quoc special zone, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung chaired a meeting to assess the progress of implementing the adjustment of the An Giang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, and deploy key tasks and development orientations of Phu Quoc special zone in the planning adjustment in the coming time. Also attending the meeting were Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee: Nguyen Thanh Phong and Ngo Cong Thuc.

At the meeting, the Department of Finance reported on the progress of implementing the adjustment of the An Giang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; the consulting unit presented the master plan of An Giang province, assessed the current situation, identified priority sectors and development orientations.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung highly appreciated the consulting unit for actively implementing the task, achieving initial results, pointing out the strengths, weaknesses and development potential of Phu Quoc. At the same time, he welcomed the contributions of departments, branches, sectors of the province and Phu Quoc special zone.

Emphasizing that the adjustment of An Giang province's planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, is an opportunity to help An Giang make a breakthrough, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested the Department of Finance to coordinate with the consulting unit to continue research, on the principles of inheritance, innovation, breakthrough, and synchronization. In particular, it is noted that the planning must highlight the strategic orientation for developing An Giang province to become a strong maritime economic center of the country.

In addition, research on border gate economy; make detailed plans with clear time and products; organize seminars inviting leading planning experts to advise and debate; collect opinions from ministries, branches and localities. Ensure consistency and compliance with the law. The Department of Agriculture and Environment coordinates with the Department of Finance to link the implementation of the general planning with land use planning.

Regarding outstanding policies, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested that they be researched and divided into 3 groups: Group of outstanding policies in the world suitable for implementation in An Giang province; most outstanding policies of provinces, cities and localities that can be applied in An Giang province; group of new policies...

According to the report at the meeting, in performing assigned tasks, the Department of Finance has proactively coordinated and issued many documents to departments, branches, sectors and localities to carry out preparations on procedures for adjusting provincial planning.

The Provincial People's Committee has issued a Decision to establish a Steering Committee and a Working Group to adjust the planning and the Implementation Plan to adjust the An Giang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; a Decision to establish a Council to appraise the adjusted planning estimate; a Decision to approve the planning content...
