Viettel signs high-tech defense cooperation with EDGE Group (UAE)

The MoU was signed by Major General Nguyen Dinh Chien, Deputy General Director of Viettel and Mr. Omar Al Zaabi, Chairman of EDGE Commerce, witnessed by Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense of Vietnam.

According to the cooperation content, the two sides will promote the development of high-tech defense industry products and services, along with civil and dual-use solutions such as: 5G telecommunications infrastructure, information technology, semiconductors, AI cameras, IoT devices, cybersecurity, logistics and e-commerce, etc.

Viettel and EDGE also aim to establish an OEM manufacturing model in Vietnam for components, assemblies and modules to serve both the UAE market and export. At the same time, the two sides will research and exchange opportunities for technology transfer and technical training according to demand, on the basis of compliance with national and international laws.

This event marks Viettel's strategic step in bringing "Make in Vietnam" products to the global market, especially in the field of modern defense and civil technology.

Viettel and EDGE will cooperate in the field of high-tech defense.

The Dubai Airshow 2025 brought together nearly 1,500 units from 98 countries, with nearly 200 aircraft on display. The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense delegation led by Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien also visited the booths and met with many international partners. He emphasized the desire to strengthen international cooperation in the defense industry on the principles of equality, mutual benefit and suitability to each side's capabilities.

At the exhibition, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and his delegation visited the booths, met and discussed with representatives of defense enterprises from the UAE and many other countries. He suggested that the parties increase exchanges and explore cooperation possibilities based on actual capacity, aiming to unify plans to promote cooperation in the defense industry in the coming time.
