Within 1 hour, the districts and cities turned off public lighting systems, decorative lights and unnecessary equipment, along with the response of organizations, individuals, businesses and people in the province. Before that, the units hosting the event had promoted propaganda in response to Earth Hour, so it gradually changed the thinking and habits in using energy economically and effectively to a large number of people.
The theme of this year's Earth Hour is "Saving electricity - Making it a habit". Through the response to the annual Earth Hour campaign, the Department of Industry and Trade calls on people in the province to continue to practice saving electricity, saving energy, and protecting the environment regularly throughout 365 days of the year, so that saving electricity and saving energy becomes a habit.
It is known that in response to the Earth Hour 2023 campaign, the whole country saved 298 thousand kWh of electricity (equivalent to about 555.6 million VND).
