BHG - On July 1st, the communes of Lung Cu, Ma Le, and Lung Tao officially merged to form the new Lung Cu commune. One of the priorities of the local government was rearranging and reorganizing the facilities for the staff and civil servants. Amidst the rugged and fragmented mountainous terrain, proactively ensuring accommodation, meals, and workspaces became the foundation for the smooth operation of the government apparatus from the very beginning.

As Lung Cu enters a new phase of development with its unified commune model, the challenge is not only managing a larger area and a larger population, but also reorganizing all infrastructure, from workplaces to residences, to ensure the government apparatus operates synchronously and efficiently.

Currently, the commune has a total of 77 officials and civil servants. Of these, 21 are Party officials, 47 are officials of the Commune People's Committee, and 9 are officials of the Fatherland Front and other mass organizations. To accommodate this workforce, three office complexes in Ma Lé, Lũng Cú, and Lũng Tào have been reviewed and reorganized according to their functions: the Ma Lé office is for the Party and mass organizations; the Lũng Cú office is for the government; and the Lũng Tào area is for the military and militia forces.

Mr. Vang Mi Vang, a civil servant in the land administration, construction, environment, and new rural development sector of the commune, shared with a gentle smile: “The terrain here is fragmented, so it’s not always possible to travel back and forth. The commune has arranged rotating rest areas for our staff in the available functional rooms, which is very flexible. When assigned to stay here, we are ready, for the sake of the work and the people. Having a stable place to rest is very reassuring.”

Currently, the commune has over 20 rest rooms to accommodate officials working around the clock, some of which are located in the old staff quarters, and others are repurposed from the old medical facility and meeting hall. In addition, plans to repair, upgrade, and even build new staff housing and facilities for mass organizations are also being proposed.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Duc, Secretary of the Party Committee of Lung Cu Commune, said: “Right from the start of the new commune establishment, we thoroughly reviewed all the infrastructure and proactively arranged the three clusters of offices in a rational manner. We ensured that no one was left behind and no one felt disoriented in the new working conditions. Only when officials have stable housing can they confidently stay close to the people and the grassroots.”

Nestled amidst jagged mountains, accommodation is not just a room, but a connection – a foundation for Party and government officials to work alongside the local people for the long term. With the determination to ensure administrative operations are not interrupted for even a single day, the Lung Cu commune government is gradually building a solid material foundation, from which to spread the spirit of dedicated service in this northernmost frontier of the country.
