BHG - In the last days of June, on National Highway 2, convoys of vehicles rolled, carrying luggage and cadres of Ha Giang province to Tuyen Quang for work. In that farewell, there were no flags, banners, slogans, only tight hugs, lingering eyes, smiles mixed with tears - the warmth and sincerity of comradeship and colleagues. A new journey opened, where the responsibility was not only work but also the mission of connecting and realizing the great aspiration when Ha Giang - Tuyen Quang officially "came under one roof".
Take the initiative, responsibility leads the way
On June 12, the National Assembly issued Resolution 202 on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units; the whole country from 63 to 34 provinces and cities. And when the clock struck 0:00 on July 1, the (new) Tuyen Quang province officially operated on the basis of merging the two provinces of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang. To prepare for that historic moment, officials of Ha Giang province took turns going to Tuyen Quang to work, ensuring the apparatus operated smoothly from the very first day. Specifically, the province sent 408 officials, civil servants and public employees, including 258 men and 150 women, to work at the administrative center of Tuyen Quang province. Of which, the government sector accounted for the highest proportion (72.5%), followed by Party Committees (18.9%), the Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations (8.6%).
Ms. Luc Thi Duyen, a specialist at the Department of Justice, and her colleagues arrange documents and prepare for the first day of work at the new unit. |
In this first phase, the Ha Giang Department of Justice has 8 key officials transferred to Tuyen Quang to work, including: Director, Deputy Director, Department Heads, specialists, public service unit officials and 1 driver. Director of the Department of Justice Truong Huy Huan said: “We have completed the handover of documents and files in the most thorough manner, ensuring that no small problems arise when the two provinces officially merge. On June 26, all officials in the agency worked together to support and arrange each working corner and souvenir so that the officials moving to Tuyen Quang not only bring luggage but also trust, sharing and the spirit of solidarity of the collective”.
Ms. Luc Thi Duyen, an expert from the Department of Justice, shared: “The luggage we bring with us is not only tangible assets such as tables, chairs, computers, printers, and filing cabinets ready to serve the work immediately. More importantly, it is a strong mental preparation and a commitment to devote ourselves to the new mission. We understand that this is not just a job transfer but a historic transformation, requiring proactiveness, decisiveness, and the highest sense of responsibility for the new administrative apparatus to operate smoothly and effectively from the very first day.”
“If my colleagues are the ones who help me stay strong at work, then the support of my family is the spiritual support for me to confidently continue my journey to Tuyen Quang,” Ms. Duyen shared more. Because her family is far away as her husband is a doctor at Dong Van General Hospital, more than 150 km away from where she works. Therefore, Ms. Duyen has to rent a room to work, and her daughter, who is 2 years old, lives with her father. Understanding that her husband's special job often requires him to be at the hospital, she still regularly travels hundreds of kilometers to visit her family on weekends and then rushes back to work at the beginning of the week. Now, to ensure professional work when operating the new province, Ms. Duyen volunteered to return to Tuyen Quang, accepting the distance to visit her family twice as long (more than 300 km)…
Early in the summer morning, the cars loaded with luggage and 24 cadres of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee lined up, quietly passing through the thick rain, heading to Tuyen Quang. Comrade Pham Dinh Kien, Deputy Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office, could not hide his emotion: “When we arrived in Tuyen Quang, we were not only welcomed but also felt the warmth and thoughtfulness of our colleagues. The public office and workplace were prepared and neat, making us feel like we had just returned home from a long journey, returning to a larger family. That was what dispelled the fatigue of the long journey, further strengthening our confidence and spirit of readiness to devote ourselves to the new responsibility."
Extend the flow of information

On the morning of June 28, it was pouring rain, but in the Ha Giang Newspaper campus, the atmosphere warmed up every minute because of the sharing of colleagues. From 6:30 a.m., all staff were present, not to start a working day as usual, but to pack up and see off 20 colleagues in the first batch of relocation to Tuyen Quang, continuing their journey in the new province.
In that emotional moment, the appearance of the working delegation of Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station led by Comrade Mai Duc Thong - Editor-in-Chief brought warm encouragement. In a friendly atmosphere, Comrade Mai Duc Thong shared with empathy the difficulties that Ha Giang Newspaper staff would face when leaving their families and starting work in a new environment. "We are not just merging according to an administrative decision but "returning home" to gather intelligence, responsibility and dedication, together writing a new chapter for Tuyen Quang Provincial Press", Comrade Mai Duc Thong emphasized. Accordingly, Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station have proactively arranged workplaces, accommodation, assigned specific tasks to each comrade, and are ready to operate the new apparatus from the first day, so that not a single beat of information is slowed down.

Going back in history, from 1976 to 1991, when Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang merged into Ha Tuyen province, the two newspapers also "came under one roof". In August 1991, Ha Tuyen province split into two provinces, Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang, and Ha Tuyen Newspaper also "split to strengthen" into two agencies, Ha Giang Newspaper and Tuyen Quang Newspaper. "For nearly 34 years of independent development, the two agencies have maintained a strong connection - from professional exchanges to meaningful journeys back to the source. Now, the merger is not just a return but a new step forward to jointly build a modern press institution, inheriting the quintessence, promoting identity, and continuing the glorious mission of revolutionary journalism" - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ha Giang Newspaper Tran Viet Tuyen shared.
The atmosphere was silent as the delegation of the Newspaper and the Radio and Television Station of Tuyen Quang province welcomed 20 cadres and civil servants of Ha Giang Newspaper to their new unit. There were no flowery farewells, only hands clasped tighter than usual as if holding on to the memories of youth that had been entrusted to the beloved northernmost land. Then the arms hugged tightly, the eyes followed, silently speaking for what could not be put into words. The tears fell silently, not loudly, not sadly, but what remained was the courage of the one leaving, the faith of the one staying behind, and the desire to continue contributing in a new horizon.
Reluctant moment of parting to new unit. |
Journalist Thien Thanh, Deputy Head of the Secretariat - Publishing Department of Ha Giang Newspaper shared: "Going to a new unit is an honor for the pioneers who contribute to the operation of the new apparatus, but it is also a feeling of excitement when leaving the homeland, far away from the place where we have spent our youth. However, with the belief that "any homeland is the Fatherland's sky", we have put aside our personal feelings, bringing with us discipline, professional courage and a single spirit of serving the Fatherland and the People."
July 1 is approaching – the moment that opens a historic turning point in the process of reforming the State administrative apparatus. And in that historical flow, the footsteps of Ha Giang cadres returning to the new province today have become a symbol of faith, silent sacrifice and sense of responsibility before the Party and the People. They not only bring with them luggage but also memories, courage and aspirations to contribute to join hands in building a strong, modern and unique Tuyen Quang common home.
