On November 15, the US Embassy in Hanoi announced that the US will provide $500,000 in emergency aid to Vietnamese families and people, and will strengthen the relief efforts being implemented by the Vietnamese Government after two storms, Fengshen (storm No. 12) and Kalmaegi (storm No. 13).

The embassy said the US is providing aid to the hardest-hit areas, helping meet basic needs such as shelter and clean water.

"This assistance follows the $500,000 the United States provided in October to support the Government of Vietnam's relief efforts following previous storms," the announcement said.

The Embassy affirmed that the US-Vietnam relationship is built on a foundation of shared priorities, including ensuring a free, open, and stable Indo-Pacific region. The strong ties between the two peoples, reinforced by the dynamic Vietnamese-American community, play a key role in the relationship between the two sides.

"Our emergency assistance demonstrates the deep bond between our two peoples and our commitment to the US-Vietnam relationship, helping to alleviate hardship, respond effectively in times of crisis, and build a more resilient future together," the announcement said.

According to the Government's electronic newspaper , in late October and early November, localities from Ha Tinh to Dak Lak were continuously hit by natural disasters, storms, and floods, especially the historic prolonged floods in Hue and Da Nang after storm No. 12 and storm No. 13 with strong winds, "flood on flood, storm on storm".
