Honoring the ambassadors who spread medical knowledge.

On May 22nd, in Ho Chi Minh City, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, in collaboration with relevant organizations, held the Award Ceremony for the "Healthcare Media Ambassador - KMOLs" nominations to recognize individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to healthcare communication and disseminated authentic health knowledge to the community.

The program was attended by representatives from regulatory agencies, medical experts, hospital and university leaders, media outlets, and a large number of doctors and medical professionals from across the country.

Nowadays, with health information on the digital environment increasingly influencing social awareness, awards are seen as a forum connecting the medical industry, the media, and the community, contributing to raising social responsibility in health communication.

This year, the Organizing Committee received more than 130 nominations from hospitals, training institutions, experts, medical staff, and health media organizations nationwide.

Many well-produced media products, ranging from short videos on TikTok and YouTube to community-based communication campaigns, demonstrate the significant shift in the healthcare workforce's approach to digital media.

More and more doctors are proactively participating in conveying medical knowledge in accessible and relatable language, contributing to providing accurate information to the public while limiting the impact of fake news and misleading health-related content online.

Mr. Tran Xuan Toan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, said that the biggest challenge today is how to ensure people have access to accurate and reliable health information amidst a digital environment where more and more misleading content is appearing for profit.

The responsibility of the press, the health sector, and relevant authorities is to work together to disseminate health information in an official, legitimate, and scientific manner. “We cannot allow unverified and misleading information to spread in the healthcare field. Healthcare professionals need support to share their knowledge with the community more effectively,” Mr. Toan emphasized.

The awards are not judged based on a first, second, and third place model, but rather focus on recognizing outstanding values ​​relevant to each category. Individual titles include: KMOLs Dedicated Ambassador, Innovation Ambassador, Community Ambassador, Inspirational Ambassador, Digital Communication Ambassador, etc. Team categories include: Health Communication Initiative Ambassador, Compassionate Communication Ambassador, and Interdisciplinary Collaboration Ambassador for Public Health.

Dr. Vu Manh Cuong, Director of the Central Center for Health Education and Communication, Ministry of Health, affirmed that communication plays a crucial role in guiding people to prevent and control diseases, improve health care knowledge, and fill information gaps on social media.

According to him, in the digital age, doctors and healthcare professionals, in addition to their expertise in treatment, need to become health ambassadors, directly conveying accurate knowledge to the community.

At the awards ceremony, Associate Professor, Doctor Vo Hong Minh Cong, Deputy Director of Gia Dinh People's Hospital, shared after receiving the title of Health Communication Initiative Ambassador: “This is a great encouragement for the medical staff. We are aware that besides treatment, the medical profession also has the responsibility to spread health care knowledge to the people in the fastest, most accurate, and legitimate way.”

Meanwhile, Ms. Do Thi Nam Phuong, Head of the Communication Center at the University Medical Center of Ho Chi Minh City, who was nominated as a Creative Communication Ambassador, said that her greatest inspiration in her work comes from the patients themselves and the medical team.

The Organizing Committee stated that it will continue to develop the award towards building an ecosystem connecting the medical industry, the press, and the community, promoting a legitimate, humane, and responsible healthcare media environment in the digital age.

The health communication program, implemented by Tuoi Tre Newspaper in collaboration with the University Medical Center of Ho Chi Minh City since September 2025, has created widespread impact with the participation of hundreds of individuals, organizations, and medical units in many localities.
