The Elderly Associations at all levels from the provincial to the grassroots level have deployed and organized the implementation of the Project methodically, achieving high efficiency, exceeding the set targets.
The Association at all levels has been proactive in coordinating to do a good job of taking care of the mental and physical health of the elderly, and has promoted internal resources to be proactive in supporting resources and conditions for the establishment and expansion of the Club model.
Over the past 5 years, the province has established 88 new clubs, bringing the total number of clubs in the province to 161 with 11,195 participants. The clubs maintain monthly activities with effective activities and are a useful playground for the elderly.
Over the past 5 years, HAI has provided technical support, resources, and equipment to launch and maintain 52 Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs in 7 districts and cities (VIE688 and VIE085 projects).
In addition, the Provincial Elderly Association directs the effective implementation of coordination programs with the Department of Culture and Sports , the Provincial Women's Union, and the Provincial Social Insurance in taking care of the elderly's health and replicating the model of Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs in the province.
By joining the Club, the elderly are screened for hypertension and diabetes, participate in cultural and artistic exchanges, sports, improve their knowledge, share, encourage and help each other in all aspects of life. The Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs are truly an extension of the health sector in screening and early detection of hypertension and diabetes as well as general health care for the elderly in the locality.
The Project's activities have contributed to attracting the elderly to the Association and building an increasingly strong Association. It has made a significant contribution to building new rural areas, building the Party, and building an increasingly clean and strong government.
From the results achieved in replicating the Intergenerational Self-Help Club model in the period of 2021-2025, the Provincial Elderly Association has set out key tasks and solutions in the coming time with the following goals: 30% of villages, hamlets and streets in the area have Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs, gradually building a care network, promoting the role of the elderly in the community; 90% of clubs perform well in 8 areas of activities according to regulations; 100% of Club Management Boards are trained to improve management and operation capacity; 80% of clubs have an income increase fund of 50 million VND or more; 70% of club members are supported to borrow capital or participate in activities to increase income, improve their lives...
At the conference, outstanding collectives and individuals in implementing the Project were awarded, including 1 collective and 5 individuals receiving Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly ; 10 collectives and 5 individuals receiving Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee and 10 collectives and 14 individuals receiving Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Association of the Elderly.
