On the afternoon of January 23rd, immediately after arriving in Hanoi to begin his two-day state visit to Vietnam (January 23-24), German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife visited the Temple of Literature (Dong Da District, Hanoi), strolled through the streets, and enjoyed Vietnamese coffee.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife were given a tour guide's introduction to the history of the Temple of Literature - National University. The Temple of Literature was built in 1070. In 1076, King Ly Nhan Tong established the National University next to the Temple of Literature, which can be considered the first university in Vietnam. It is expected that today, January 23rd, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife will attend the official welcoming ceremony hosted by President Vo Van Thuong. The two leaders will then hold talks, witness the signing of several documents, and meet with the press to announce the results of the talks. In addition, the German President will also meet with the Chairman of the National Assembly , Vuong Dinh Hue, and attend a reception hosted by President Vo Van Thuong and his wife. Tomorrow, January 24th, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and visit Ho Chi Minh City.
