On August 22, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City sent a notice to the People's Committees of 168 wards, communes, and special zones, and principals of educational institutions about organizing the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year will be held at the same time from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. on September 5 at educational institutions in the city. The national opening ceremony program for the 2025-2026 school year will be held simultaneously in person at the National Convention Center and online via live broadcast on VTV1 television at educational institutions.
In preparation for the opening ceremony, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requires heads of educational institutions to review conditions, arrange space and equipment to broadcast live the national opening ceremony program, coordinate with local telecommunications and television units to ensure stable signals, high quality images and sounds. Arrange audio-visual equipment (LED, TV) to ensure enough for the entire school to attend and follow the opening ceremony program for the 2025-2026 school year.
Heads of units develop detailed plans to ensure safety, solemnity, and economy, in accordance with the actual situation of the unit. Activities according to the school plan are organized concisely, ending before 8:00 or after 9:30. The HCM City Department of Education and Training requires schools not to mobilize students before 7:00.
For preschool level, based on actual conditions, organize "Children's Day to School" ending before 8:00. Only organize the opening ceremony in the yard for preschool children, the remaining classes watch live TV in the classroom group.
For newly built schools, do not organize the opening ceremony at the same time as the inauguration ceremony and do not mobilize students to attend the inauguration ceremony.
