Ho Chi Minh City: Two universities have new leaders.

(NLĐO) - From today, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Vice Rector of the University of Information Technology, officially takes charge of the university.

The leadership of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City has decided to officially appoint Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Vice Rector of the University of Information Technology, to take charge of the university from December 1st until a new rector is appointed.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang assumed the position after Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh, the school's principal, stepped down due to reaching the retirement age for administrative roles.

At Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong has also been appointed as Rector for a term of one year, starting from November 24, 2025.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong stated that, in his leadership role, he will act as a companion, listener, and servant in all school activities. He pledged to build a happy working environment, encourage creativity, appropriately recognize all contributions, and respect all opinions.

The overarching goal is to create a humane, united, and compassionate academic community where every member has the opportunity to contribute their value.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong (68 years old, from Bac Ninh province) is one of the reputable experts in the fields of educational science and geography. He defended his doctoral thesis in geography at Hanoi Pedagogical University I in 1994 and was recognized as an associate professor in 2003.

In his career in education management, he served as the Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education and later as the Vice Rector of Van Hien University. Besides his administrative work, he left a significant mark on curriculum and textbook development.

He is the Chief Editor of the geography section of the history-geography textbooks (grades 6 to 9) and geography textbooks (grades 10 to 12) published by Vietnam Education Publishing House in the 2018 general education program. These textbooks have had a significant impact on the reform of teaching and learning at the secondary school level.

Currently, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Hong holds the position of Standing Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Education and Training, continuing to contribute to the development of the education sector.
