On the afternoon of February 13th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade held a meeting on the implementation of several key priorities for the trade sector in 2025. At the meeting, the department's leaders stated that in 2025, they will further strengthen the control of goods quality, market stabilization programs, and export activities.

Specifically, the market stabilization program will invite more businesses nationwide to register and participate, especially for essential consumer goods; expand the scope of participation by focusing on the supply chain (fertilizers, agricultural supplies, etc.); and integrate it with other programs such as the "Responsible Green Tick" program, the "Supply and Demand Connection" program, and the "Investment Connection" program.

Regarding quality control, we will encourage more retail systems, components, and localities to participate in the Responsible Green Tick Program; we will delve deeper into display aspects such as having dedicated display areas for Responsible Green Tick products, prioritizing booth access, and developing software for program management.

"We will intensify communication, promotion, and introduction of the 'Responsible Green Tick' program to contribute to the formation of a brand identity system, distinguishing 'Responsible Green Tick' products from other products," the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade affirmed.

Regarding export activities, the Vietnam Export Goods Fair and the Ho Chi Minh City International Gift and Souvenir Fair 2025 (taking place from March 26 to 29) will significantly increase in scale compared to 2024, reaching approximately 1,000 booths, with a diverse range of product groups, primarily focusing on food products, processing technology, fashion , etc.

According to Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, exports in 2025 are considered difficult to predict given the generally challenging global economic situation, increased competition among countries and markets, and the introduction of new regulations, which have already impacted the steel industry.

"This year, the city aims for double-digit growth, so the task for the industry and trade sector, and for export activities, is considerable."

"With the export fair, we spent a lot of time working with businesses and foreign diplomatic agencies to help them disseminate information and invite businesses, especially to large markets like China. With a larger scale of organization, the event will contribute to promoting export activities," Mr. Phuong assessed.

According to the head of the Department of Industry and Trade, export fairs are also an effective way to promote trade, especially more cost-effective than businesses taking their goods abroad for promotion, so the city decided to organize this event annually.

At the event, leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade presented certificates of commendation from the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to 32 units for their outstanding achievements in implementing Directive No. 01/CT-UBND of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. The majority of these were businesses involved in the production, trading, and retail of food products, which performed well in sourcing goods and ensuring the availability of goods for the Tet holiday.
