The festival “From Mau Than to the Great Spring Victory” was held at Tran Hung Dao Primary School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) on April 16, moving all the participants. This is one of the school’s activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Ms. Le Thanh Huong, Principal of Tran Hung Dao Primary School, said that the festival took place in a special atmosphere, as the whole country looked forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. According to Ms. Huong, the festival was not only organized for the school’s students but also for the students and principals of 11 primary schools in and outside the district to participate.
Historical stories told in the schoolyard during special April days
At the beginning of the program, students had the opportunity to interact with veterans from the Veterans Association who participated in the Tet Offensive and Uprising in 1968 and the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975. Historical stories and unforgettable memories of April 30, 1975 were told emotionally in the schoolyard on a special April day.

In the middle of the school yard, emotional and heroic historical stories were told by the veterans. Letters filled with affection and gratitude from the students were also handed to the veterans, who did not spare their blood and bones to fight for the independence and peace of the nation.

Experiential activities for students to learn more about history
According to the Organizing Committee, previously, all students of the school participated in the activity "April 30 in my heart". With this activity, students will create creative products expressing their feelings and thoughts about the historic April 30 Victory and the sacrifices of generations of national heroes, through forms such as: Drawing, writing, poetry, designing posters, making storytelling clips, etc.

When the festival officially took place, the students participated in many activities, namely "obstacle" stations. At each station, depending on the activity and challenge, students learned and experienced history.
For example, at station 1, students crawl through tunnels, under nets, and avoid touching or ringing the bell more than 3 times. At the destination, they collect the flag and submit it to the judges to receive a gift. At station 1, "Road to the Front", students will choose the puzzle pieces to fit the background, color, paste, fix details, identify historical events, and play historical characters in groups....
Students participated in many activities at the festival to learn more about the heroic history of the nation.
The festival aims to develop students' abilities through historical, cultural, and linguistic experiential activities; forming teamwork skills...
The most touching moment was when, to the background of the song "Like having Uncle Ho on the great victory day", the big screen in the middle of the school yard showed the entire image of the map of Vietnam created by the students themselves, many parents in attendance were moved to tears.
Parents were moved when they joined the festival with their children.
Ms. Le Thanh Huong added that the festival aims to educate students about patriotism and national pride through learning about the nation's arduous and glorious struggle from Tet Mau Than 1968 to the Great Victory of Spring 1975.
Along with that, it aims to foster ethics, lifestyle, and spirit of gratitude to previous generations; arouse a sense of responsibility and strive to excel in learning and training.
Develop students' capacity through historical, cultural and linguistic experiential activities; develop teamwork skills, cooperative spirit and school culture. Contribute to building a friendly educational environment, connecting students - teachers - parents in comprehensive education.
