On July 8th, at the Posts and Telecommunications University, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in collaboration with IIG Vietnam, held the closing ceremony and national awards presentation for the Viettel World Office Informatics Championship 2025.
The ceremony honored and awarded prizes to six national champions, including Nguyen Thai Son from Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted ( Ninh Binh ), who was the only high school-level contestant to win first prize in MOS PowerPoint 365 Apps.
The remaining five champions are from universities, including: Do Hai Long - Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, first prize in MOS Word 365 Apps; Luong Son Tung - Foreign Trade University, first prize in MOS Excel 365 Apps; Vuong Thu Huong - Vietnam Maritime University, first prize in MOS Word 2019; Nghiem Thi My Linh - Vietnam Maritime University; Nguyen Minh Duc - Hanoi University of Science and Technology, first prize in MOS PowerPoint 2019.
These six representatives of young Vietnamese IT talent will compete in the MOS World Championship 2025, the world finals , taking place from July 27th to 30th in Orlando, Florida, USA. The Vietnamese MOS team will compete against the best contestants from nearly 100 countries and territories.
At the ceremony, the organizers also honored and presented 18 second prizes, 30 third prizes, 72 consolation prizes, and 6 promising awards, along with many other prestigious awards for individuals and teams who achieved high results in the competition.

According to the organizers, this year's competition features nearly 2,000 outstanding contestants selected from 230 teams representing universities, colleges, vocational schools, and high schools nationwide competing in the national qualifying round.
Following the national qualifiers, the results show a breakthrough in the quality of contestants this season, with nearly 90% of participants achieving a score of 700 or higher – the standard score for the international MOS computer skills test, which is applied in over 150 countries and territories worldwide.
This year, we continue to see a significant increase in the number of candidates achieving a perfect score of 1,000, with 178 students, including those from junior high school.
Of the 150 outstanding contestants nationwide selected to compete in the national final round, 98 (more than half) came from high schools, with many from the northern midland and mountainous regions, the Central Highlands, and the Mekong Delta.
Vietnam is among the top 10 strongest teams in the world.
The MOS World Championship is an international competition for students aged 13-22, aiming to discover and honor the world's most outstanding IT talents in the use of office applications. The competition has been organized annually since 2002 by Certiport Corporation (USA).
In Vietnam, 2025 marks the 16th year the competition has been launched and organized nationwide. The Vietnamese team's record at the MOSWC World Finals to date includes 21 medals (4 gold, 4 silver, and 13 bronze) and has consistently ranked among the top 10 strongest teams in the world for the past 10 years.
