Deputy Prime Minister inspects the progress of the Bach Mai and Viet Duc Hospital 2nd Facility Project

The Deputy Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Health to speed up the appraisal of documents; purchased equipment needs to be urgently installed and tested to ensure stable operation before being put into use.

On the afternoon of December 8, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long led a working delegation to inspect the progress of the investment project to build the second facility of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital in Ninh Binh province.

The working delegation included Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, representatives of several central ministries and branches, leaders of Bach Mai Hospital, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital and construction contractors.

According to the report of the Ministry of Health , implementing the Government's direction on completing construction and putting into operation a part of the Project of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital in Ninh Binh province after December 19, 2025, the Ministry of Health has regularly inspected and urged at the construction site to grasp the progress and promptly resolve problems.

Up to now, contractors have constructed and completed roads, parking lots, mowed grass; installed furniture, conference hall equipment, installed signs; painted inside and outside the house, iron railings; canopy for the receiving hall; completed installation of indoor lighting systems; fountains; completed air conditioning systems...; completed and tested the medical gas supply system, RO system; pumped liquid oxygen into tanks for testing and inspection of medical gas items...

However, there are currently some problems with fire prevention and fighting because the design documents have some adjustments and changes that require re-establishing the technical design documents to adjust and supplement the architectural part.

Regarding the supply and installation of medical equipment, for medical equipment subject to direct procurement, contractors are currently supplying and installing some of the total 82 medical equipment of the Bach Mai Hospital Facility 2 Project and 83 medical equipment of the Viet Duc Friendship Hospital Facility 2 Project.

Medical equipment for testing activities of Bach Mai Hospital has also been installed and tested.

It is expected that by December 18, 2025, the installation of a CT scan system, a specimen casting system, and a specimen transfer machine will be completed. Regarding the medical equipment, the bidding method will be applied. The Project Management Board is organizing a bidding; it is expected that all equipment will be handed over at the construction site before March 31, 2026; all equipment will be completed, installed, and put into use before April 30, 2026.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province Ha Lan Anh said that in preparation for the inauguration ceremony of the construction of the second facility of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital on December 19, 2025, Ninh Binh province has focused on improving the traffic infrastructure in the area surrounding the two hospitals, striving to complete it before December 15, 2025.

The province is focusing on speeding up the construction of social housing. It is expected that 650 apartments will be completed by June-July 2026 to meet the housing needs of staff and doctors of the two hospitals.

The province has directed the Department of Construction to closely coordinate with the Project Management Board and contractors to coordinate the acceptance of construction quality...

Recognizing and appreciating the efforts of the Ministry of Health, the Project Management Board, hospitals, Ninh Binh province and contractors during the implementation process, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized that the construction progress of the Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital in Ninh Binh has achieved positive results, but there is not much time left from now until the inauguration ceremony of the two projects.

Therefore, the Ministry of Health continues to closely direct and speed up the appraisal of documents to promptly pay contractors; purchased equipment needs to be urgently installed, tested, and ensure stable operation before being put into use.

The Project Management Board, contractors and related units must complete acceptance records, environmental procedures, discharge permits and transfer them to provincial departments and branches for early consideration and handling.

Regarding the construction inauguration ceremony scheduled to take place on December 19, 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister requested relevant ministries, branches and localities to carefully prepare according to assigned tasks, ensuring the event takes place solemnly, safely and on schedule./.
