2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament: Vietnam Police Team I shares points with Thailand

On the evening of July 9, at Hang Day Stadium (Hanoi), despite fielding a squad consisting of many national and former national players, the Vietnam People's Public Security (Public Security) I team still could not defeat Thailand on the opening day of the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Tournament.

With home field advantage and superior force, Vietnam Police Team I fielded a very strong lineup, gathering many national players and former national players currently playing for Hanoi Police (CAHN) such as Thanh Long, Tuan Duong, Van Toan, Van Do, Ngoc Thang, Xuan Thinh... but the home team missed many opportunities.

After the opening whistle, the home team quickly deployed an attacking style of play. Under the guidance of experienced players, CAND Vietnam I continuously pushed up the formation, creating strong pressure on the Thai goal. The ball almost only rolled on the away team's field for most of the match.

However, despite controlling the game and having many dangerous opportunities, the home team's strikers showed a lack of sharpness in finishing. Their shots were constantly blocked brilliantly by the Thai goalkeeper or the ball went just wide of the goal. Many times, the ball hit the crossbar and the goal post of the Thai goal, much to the regret of the fans present at Hang Day Stadium.

Throughout the 90 minutes of play, CAND Vietnam I maintained an overwhelming position with superior ball control and many times more shots than the opponent. However, all stopped at the opportunity level when not once successfully penetrating the Thai net. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, a somewhat regrettable result for the home team.

At PVF Stadium ( Hung Yen ), the Vietnam Police II team had a resounding 10-3 victory over the Australian team, in the second match of the 2025 ASEAN Police Football Open.

The players of CAND Vietnam II played explosively, scoring 7 goals thanks to goals from former players Mai Tien Thanh, Ngoc Duy, Manh Duy, Van Chuong, Nhu Tuan and a double from Duc Nam. On the other side, Australia only had 1 goal from Ngoc Nam in the 35th minute.

In the second half, CAND Vietnam II slowed down but still put great pressure on the opponent's defense. Hoang Dinh Tung and his teammates scored 3 more goals to end the match with a resounding 10-3 victory over Australia.

In the matches on the same day, Cambodia won 2-1 against Laos, Timor Leste and Singapore drew 2-2.
