Vice President meets delegates participating in the Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals

On the morning of July 21, at the Presidential Palace, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with delegates participating in the 6th Global Forum of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals in 2025.

Expressing his emotions when meeting with young Vietnamese intellectuals, the Vice President emphasized that in any period of Vietnamese history, the country has had heroes and outstanding intellectuals who have played a special role in the country's development. After nearly 80 years, under the leadership of the Party, Vietnam has built a strong intellectual team.

The Vice President welcomed the Central Youth Union's organization of the 6th Global Vietnamese Young Intellectuals Forum in 2025 in a special context, the whole country is implementing the organization of two-level local governments and preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, our Party is implementing important resolutions, preparing for the 14th National Party Congress with the goal of bringing the country into a new era of development.  

Through its organization, the Forum not only inspires the sense of responsibility, love for the homeland and the desire to contribute of young intellectuals, expressing the aspiration to "stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers" that beloved Uncle Ho always wished for; creating a space to connect young intellectuals globally, spreading the spirit of innovation and creativity, actively contributing to the development of the country.

The Vice President said that during their overseas trips, leaders of many countries have acknowledged and expressed their respect for Vietnamese intellectuals, especially Vietnamese students and experts studying abroad. This is a testament to the mettle, capacity and patriotism of young Vietnamese intellectuals, whether at home or abroad.

Outlining the current global , regional and domestic context, the Vice President said that the Party, State and people are making efforts to implement many major policies, including the rearrangement of the apparatus, administrative boundaries and the operation of the two-level local government model. In particular, the Central Committee has issued four key resolutions: Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW. These resolutions are closely related to each other and need to be studied comprehensively and synchronously to realize the goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by the 100th anniversary of the country's founding in 2045.

Emphasizing the role of young intellectuals in "solving the problem of national development", the Vice President asked young intellectuals - the country's human resources elite, to continue to promote national pride, patriotism, identify their mission, responsibility and honor to join hands in building the country in the new context, entering a new era. Young intellectuals must grasp the trends of the times, be sensitive to domestic and international politics ; set personal goals and aspirations, and link research projects with life to make substantive and effective contributions.

Noting some major issues facing Vietnam's socio-economy today, the Vice President emphasized that young intellectuals should focus on researching the "problem" of developing transport infrastructure, information technology, agricultural processing industry, bio-industry, building a national brand for Vietnamese rice; improving the physical strength and intelligence of Vietnamese people; developing cultural industries and high value-added services such as finance, logistics...; and proactively adapting to natural disasters and climate change, especially in vulnerable areas such as the Central region and the Mekong Delta...

The Vice President suggested that the Central Youth Union continue to maintain and develop the Forum as a platform to connect young intellectuals, create an environment for exchange, sharing, spreading the spirit of creativity, and offering advice for national development. Along with that, relevant ministries and branches need to coordinate to propose policies to promote talent according to the direction of General Secretary To Lam. That is, in August, ministries and branches must propose outstanding policies to attract 100 Vietnamese experts abroad to return to work in the country, moving towards building a strategy to attract and develop intellectual resources until 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Believing that when sharing and connecting, intellectuals will not be lost but will become richer, enriching Vietnamese intelligence and creating the strength to develop the country in the era of knowledge economy, the Vice President believes that with patriotism, will, courage and intelligence, young Vietnamese intellectuals will continue to conquer new heights, making practical contributions to the cause of rapid and sustainable development, maintaining the socialist orientation and affirming Vietnam's position in the international arena.

Receiving the Vice President's comments, Secretary of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam, President of the Central Youth Union of Vietnam, said that the Central Youth Union will closely coordinate with ministries, branches, localities and domestic and foreign partners to strongly promote the role of connecting, accompanying and creating conditions for young Vietnamese intellectuals to fully develop their potential and contribute more effectively to the common cause.

Over the past 5 years, the Global Young Vietnamese Intellectuals Forum has attracted the participation of more than 1,000 young intellectuals at home and abroad; contributing to programs and policies related to the development of young Vietnamese talents. The 6th Global Young Vietnamese Intellectuals Forum in 2025 with the theme "Young Vietnamese intellectuals around the world contribute to the country entering a new era" was held from July 19 to 21 in Hanoi to concretize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
