Carefully prepare for the 25th International Mathematics Competition in Da Nang

DNO - On the afternoon of July 21, at the meeting of the Steering Committee for the 25th International Mathematics Competition (VIMC), Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi requested relevant departments, branches and units to prepare carefully so that the competition takes place safely and effectively; at the same time, through the event, promote the image of Da Nang to other countries.

Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi requested the Department of Education and Training to preside over, coordinate, and ensure the progress of the entire exam organization plan, direct subcommittees to deploy detailed tasks, especially the selection of exam questions, grading, and announcement of results to ensure confidentiality, objectivity, and compliance with regulations; closely coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, and units to promptly resolve difficulties arising during the preparation process.

“This is an important exam, contributing to affirming the prestige and educational position of Da Nang in the international arena. Departments, agencies, and sponsors proactively coordinate, actively prepare facilities, have plans to ensure absolute security and safety for the exam; organize communication, promote, and spread the image of Da Nang to international friends,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized.

The 25th VIMC International Mathematics Competition is scheduled to take place from August 14 to 19 in Da Nang with the slogan “Connecting intelligence, spreading friendship, conquering Mathematics”. The competition consists of 2 levels, for students in grades 6-7 and born after August 14, 2012; students in grades 8-9 and born after August 14, 2011.

To date, the exam steering committee has established subcommittees to develop detailed plans for each stage of the exam, survey facilities and draw up preliminary plans for activities. As of July 20, 31 international delegations have registered with 516 students and 218 teachers. Vietnam has two delegations participating in the exam.

The exam is co-organized by the Department of Education and Training, Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology and IEG Global Joint Stock Company.
