Immediately after receiving information about the storm, following the direction of Power Generation Corporation 1 to hold an online meeting to deploy storm prevention and control work, the Company quickly organized a comprehensive inspection and review of all construction items, equipment and operating systems before the flood season. The inspection results showed that all items were safe, operated stably and were ready to deal with complex flood situations.

At present, the water level of Ban Ve Lake is at 188.66 m, 3.84 m lower than the normal water level, with the remaining flood prevention capacity of about 470 million m3 . This is a favorable condition for regulating and reducing floods, ensuring safety for works and downstream areas in all situations.
According to the forecast of Nghe An Province Hydrometeorological Station, the average water flow into the lake tomorrow (July 22) could reach 1,200 m³/s, with the flood peak expected to reach about 2,300 m³/s. In the next 36-48 hours, the lake water level could reach 191.5 m, still within safe operating limits. To proactively deal with situations, the Company has developed flexible operating scenarios, suitable for each level of natural disaster.

During the regulation process, the Company strictly implements the approved reservoir operation process, always ensuring safety for the project and the downstream area. If the water level at hydrological stations such as Con Cuong exceeds alarm level I but has not reached alarm level II, or the water flow to the reservoir is from 1,000 - 1,200 m³/s, the Company will proactively maintain the reservoir water level at a stable level. In case the water flow exceeds 1,200 m³/s or the water level at the monitoring stations exceeds alarm level II, the Company will promptly operate to cut and reduce floods to minimize damage to the downstream area.
Not only focusing on technical work, Ban Ve Hydropower Company also pays special attention to propaganda, warning and guidance on measures to prevent, avoid and respond to natural disasters. Information on flood forecasts, reservoir operations, flood discharge plans, etc. are promptly and transparently reported to staff, workers and local people, contributing to raising awareness, response skills and minimizing natural disaster risks in the community.

At the same time, the Company has organized forces to be on duty 24/7 at the construction site; fully prepared human resources, vehicles, materials, and spare equipment, ensuring readiness to quickly handle any arising situations. Coordination with local authorities, the Disaster Prevention Command Committee and functional units in the area has been closely and uniformly deployed to proactively manage according to the levels of natural disasters.
With the spirit of “not being caught off guard”, Ban Ve Hydropower Company determines that natural disaster prevention is not only a responsibility but also an order in increasingly extreme weather conditions. The Company commits to continue to closely monitor weather and hydrological conditions, operate reservoirs in accordance with regulations, maximize proactive role in all situations, contributing to protecting the safety of works, people and property in downstream areas.
