On the afternoon of February 1, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Lao Dong Newspaper to organize a ceremony to present gifts to ethnic minorities and provide financial support for studying for ethnic minority students in difficult circumstances.
Mr. Truong Hoa Binh, former Politburo member, former Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Ngo Minh Chau, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee attended the ceremony.
On this occasion, the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee coordinated with the "Scholarship for ethnic minority and poor students" program of the Lao Dong Newspaper, with the support of former Politburo member Truong Hoa Binh and sponsors, to present 100 gifts to ethnic minorities (VND 1 million/gift) and 100 scholarships to support studying for ethnic minority students in difficult circumstances (VND 1 million/gift).
At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, informed representatives of ethnic minorities about the results of socio-economic development in the area in the past year; at the same time, he acknowledged that ethnic minorities in the city always comply with the policies and laws of the State, actively participate in campaigns and movements in the locality.
Ho Chi Minh City has effectively implemented the Party and State's ethnic policies and guidelines; promoted the strength of national solidarity, mobilized social resources to care for and support ethnic minorities, thereby helping to stabilize the lives of ethnic minorities in the area and improve their quality of life.
