With the message "A drop of blood given - a life left behind", in the morning, many volunteers and officials, civil servants, teachers and staff from Kindergarten 1, Kindergarten 11, Kindergarten 12; An Duong Vuong Primary School, Trai Mat, Le Loi, Le Quy Don, Me Linh; Lam Son Secondary School, Tay Son Secondary - High School in the wards of Da Lat participated in donating 106 units of blood to Lam Dong General Hospital.
These 106 newly received blood units only meet the blood demand for 2 days, at peak times the hospital uses up to 70 blood units per day to promptly treat patients.

Last night (July 13), Lam Dong General Hospital called for volunteers to donate 9 units of blood (blood type 0) to resuscitate a patient in need of blood.
Previously, the record for blood mobilization at night was on the evening of July 12, from 5:30 pm to 12:30 am, only 3 staff members of the Testing Department - Lam Dong General Hospital received blood with a total of 40 units of blood to meet the needs of emergency and patient treatment.
Mr. Vo Dang Thai Binh , expert of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat (former officer of the Da Lat Red Cross Society) said: On the evening of July 12, there was a case of an accident leading to a traumatic brain injury and being hospitalized. Lam Dong General Hospital had no more blood type B to transfuse for the patient, so they called for emergency blood donations. From the call on Facebook and on Zalo for blood type B, volunteers in the wards of Da Lat came to donate blood directly at the Laboratory Department - Lam Dong General Hospital.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoai Nam - Director of NLC Confectionery Company Limited (No. 58, Hoang Hoa Tham, Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat) shared: I participate in the blood bank group of Lam Dong General Hospital, so when I heard that the hospital needed blood to treat an accident patient, I immediately ran up and brought cakes to support the staff of the Blood Testing Department.
Having worked as Vice President of the Red Journey Club connecting love in Lam Dong province, I also joined hands to support the technicians of the Laboratory Department to receive blood, reducing the pressure of work overload.
This is the 26th time I have donated blood. I am always ready and do not drink alcohol or smoke to ensure the best health. Whenever the hospital needs blood, even at midnight, I still run to the hospital to donate blood to save the patient in time.

Ms. Bui Thi Minh Ly - Laboratory Technician recounted: “On Saturday, I started my shift at 7am, and in the evening, I organized an emergency blood draw to save the patient in time. There were only 3 of us technicians doing all the steps, while this job should have required at least 9 people. We took blood until midnight, forgetting dinner. Not only did we take blood from the emergency donor, we also had to do routine blood tests and distribute blood to the departments in time to save the patient.”
In the situation that the hospital is lacking all blood types, in addition to the number of blood units called for emergency, we have taken blood from all volunteers who came to donate blood for emergency, resulting in 40 units of blood taken during the night.
Master Doan Hoang Anh - Head of Laboratory Department
Lam Dong General Hospital
However, Lam Dong General Hospital is still in a state of blood shortage to reserve for emergency treatment of patients. Meanwhile, from now until the end of July, the hospital has no schedule to receive blood. The hospital has also suddenly mobilized medical staff to donate blood to promptly treat patients.

It is expected that there will be many more calls for blood donations at the Laboratory Department in the near future. Mr. Vo Dang Thai Binh, an expert of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat (former officer of the Da Lat Red Cross Society) added: For many years, we have coordinated with the Laboratory Department of Lam Dong General Hospital to establish live blood banks according to each blood type, maintaining connections on the Zalo platform so that when the hospital needs to mobilize blood suddenly, there will be volunteers coming to the department to donate blood directly.

We introduce the link and QR code to join the blood groups to call for more kind hearts in the community to join in donating blood to save lives this summer.
