Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung is Head of the National Steering Committee for Semiconductor Industry Development.

(GLO)- Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung is the Head of the National Steering Committee for Semiconductor Industry Development according to Decision No. 2265/QD-TTg signed by the Prime Minister on October 14.

Accordingly, the National Steering Committee for Semiconductor Industry Development (Steering Committee) is strengthened on the basis of the National Steering Committee for Semiconductor Industry Development, established under Decision No. 791/QD-TTg dated August 5, 2024 of the Prime Minister .

Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung is the Standing Deputy Head of the Steering Committee and Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang is the Deputy Head of the Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee members include: Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Tam, Deputy Head of the Government Office Pham Manh Cuong, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Truong Thanh Hoai, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Quy Kien, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh and Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Thanh Tu.

The Steering Committee is an interdisciplinary organization whose function is to assist the Prime Minister in researching and directing the resolution of important, interdisciplinary tasks related to promoting the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.

The Board is responsible for researching, advising, recommending, and proposing directions and solutions to promote the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam. At the same time, directing and coordinating between relevant ministries, agencies, and organizations to promote the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.

The Steering Committee works part-time, promotes personal responsibility and exercises powers and responsibilities according to the Regulations on organization and operation of the Steering Committee.

The Head of the Steering Committee uses the Prime Minister's seal; the Deputy Heads and members of the Steering Committee use the seal of the ministry or governing body.

The standing agency of the Steering Committee is the Ministry of Science and Technology, which uses the existing apparatus to organize the implementation of tasks assigned by the Steering Committee.

Decision No. 2265/QD-TTg takes effect from October 14, 2025 and replaces Decision No. 791/QD-TTg dated August 5, 2024 of the Prime Minister on the establishment of the National Steering Committee for the development of the semiconductor industry.
