After nearly 70 years of construction and development, the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) has become a common home for millions of young people across the country. In Lao Cai - the borderland of the Fatherland, that tradition is preserved and strongly promoted, expressed in the spirit of "I love my Fatherland", the desire to contribute, affirming the role and bravery of youth in the work of building and protecting the homeland.

The Vietnam Youth Federation of Lao Cai province currently has 107 associations and clubs with more than 207,100 members, most of whom are ethnic minority youth. After the merger, the association has promoted propaganda and education work, especially implementing the study and implementation of the Resolution of the Congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation at all levels, creating consensus and unity in the awareness and actions of members.
Comrade Ha Duc Hai - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Youth Federation shared: The Provincial Vietnam Youth Federation always attaches importance to promoting youth strength and arousing pride in the glorious tradition of the organization among the youth of all ethnic groups. Thereby, building a generation of brave youth with revolutionary ideals, contributing to local development and international integration.

Accordingly, the provincial Youth Union chapters have focused on promoting communication, educating about life ideals, spreading positive messages through social networks, effectively maintaining 3 communication channels on Facebook and Zalo, posting hundreds of news and articles promoting the study of the Resolution of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029 and the Resolution of the 6th Provincial Youth Union.

In mid-July, the working atmosphere in Lao Cai province - where the 500kV power line passes through - became bustling. On the dirt roads between acacia and cinnamon hills, groups of young volunteers carrying chainsaws, hoes and shovels... worked hard to help people harvest crops, dismantle houses, and transport materials for the project.
Ms. Tran Kim Thoa - Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Phong Hai Commune shared: "This is a national key project, bringing great benefits. Therefore, we determine that participating in support is not only an obligation but also an opportunity to contribute. We are always ready, not afraid of difficulties or hardships."

Mr. Dao Duy Thoi's family (Hang Da hamlet, Xuan Quang commune) is one of the households affected by the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project. The house, built just over a year ago - the result of a lifetime of savings - now has to be demolished to serve the construction, although the garden land is still kept. At first, his family was very concerned, even disagreed. After the government persuaded, explained and committed to full support, he agreed.
“What touched me was that the union members and young people, even though they were strangers, enthusiastically helped the family dismantle, move things, and clean the garden. Seeing everyone working tirelessly, I felt a sense of sharing and warmth,” Mr. Thoi confided.
It is known that Mr. Thoi’s family will move to a resettlement area more than 10 km away from their old home. Local youth union members have planned to help transport the family as soon as possible.
That is just one of thousands of projects and tasks that Lao Cai youth have carried out over the past time.
