From resolution to practice
Implementing the Resolution of Lam Dong province on digital transformation to 2025, with a vision to 2030, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has directed the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Binh Thuan Branch to promote the application of technology in museum activities. With the goal of helping the public, especially the young generation, access and learn about President Ho Chi Minh in a vivid and intuitive way, the Museum has built a "Virtual Museum" model applying 3D technology and virtual reality (VR 360) at www.binhthuan.hochiminh.vn. With just 1 smart device with internet connection, viewers can visit and explore the entire museum space anytime, anywhere.

With a friendly, easy-to-use interface, allowing users to choose sightseeing spots, adjust viewing angles, turn on or off audio commentary and background music according to personal needs. The content is divided into 3 main parts, which are: Panorama of Ho Chi Minh Museum - Binh Thuan Branch will introduce the history of formation, architecture and typical activities through 3D images combined with automatic commentary. Next is the Duc Thanh School relic site, viewers can "step into" the historical space with vivid 3D images of the school gate, classrooms, fisherman's house, Nguyen Thong church, star fruit tree, well... where teacher Nguyen Tat Thanh taught from September 1910 to February 1911. For the exhibition house about President Ho Chi Minh, there will be 8 major themes, introducing each stage in Uncle Ho's life, along with a statue of Uncle Ho with children and a traditional room recreated with vivid 3D technology.
Tourist Nguyen Thi Mai from Hanoi shared: “I have visited the Duc Thanh School Relic Site before, but when experiencing the 3D virtual museum, the feeling is very different. Every small detail such as classrooms, schoolyards, and wells are vividly recreated, making me feel like I am back to the time when Uncle Ho was teaching here.” Tourist Pham Quang Huy from Ho Chi Minh City commented: “What impressed me most was the automatic commentary. Even though I was just sitting at home, I still felt like a tour guide was directly introducing each space and each artifact. This is a great way to spread history to young people.”
Connecting heritage spaces with technology
Ho Chi Minh Museum - Binh Thuan Branch is located along the Ca Ty River in Phan Thiet Ward, is a special architectural - cultural complex, including 2 main items: Duc Thanh School relic site and the Exhibition House of President Ho Chi Minh. Duc Thanh School relic site was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information as a national historical - cultural relic since 1986. This place still retains its ancient and peaceful features, with rows of star fruit trees, wells, classrooms, Nguyen Thong church... recalling the rustic space where Uncle Ho sowed the first seeds of enlightenment. The Exhibition House of President Ho Chi Minh was built in a modern style, displaying many precious images, documents and artifacts, expressing Uncle Ho's deep affection for the people of Lam Dong as well as the respect of the people in the province for him.
According to the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, not only stopping at the museum, the department also coordinated with specialized units to digitize and build 360-degree virtual reality tours at many famous destinations such as: Phan Thiet water tower, Po Sah Inư tower, Rang Dong wine castle, Sealinks City, Van Thuy Tu, The Cliff Resort, Seahorse Resort & Spa and the whole view of Da Lat. This activity contributes to forming a "digital heritage map" of Lam Dong, expanding the promotion of local images on cyberspace, aiming to develop smart tourism and spread Vietnamese cultural values to the world.
