"Sweet fruit" of Quang Yen Education sector

With more than 10,300 secondary school students studying at 20 schools across the town, in the 2024-2025 school year, the learning and training results of Quang Yen students have many positive changes. The percentage of students with good and excellent academic performance accounts for nearly 60%; there are no students with unsatisfactory training. In particular, 100% of 9th grade students graduating from secondary school is a result that affirms the efforts of the entire school system, teachers, students and families in the town in improving the quality of comprehensive education .

An important highlight is the clear improvement in key education. In the 2024-2025 school year, the town had 253 ninth graders winning prizes in the town-level excellent student competition, an increase of 24 students compared to the previous school year. At the provincial level, Quang Yen had 73 students winning prizes out of a total of 136 participating candidates (reaching a rate of 52.9%), including 1 first prize and 10 second prizes. The competitions for Young Informatics, Science and Technology, Youth Creativity, UPU letter writing, painting, etc. all had the participation of a large number of students in the area and won many high prizes. These are not easy achievements to achieve, especially in the context of local conditions with many difficulties in terms of facilities, staff and conditions for implementing the new general education program.

Head of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Yen Town Nguyen Thi Thuy shared: Quang Yen education not only focuses on improving knowledge, but also focuses on building personality, life skills and pride in the homeland for students. We consider each lesson and each activity as an opportunity to cultivate a comprehensive, rich in identity and integration. Therefore, bringing local culture into schools has become a unique feature of Quang Yen education.

With that spirit, 100% of schools in Quang Yen have organized for students to study and experience at Bach Dang historical and cultural relics, Tran Hung Dao Temple, and Vua Ba Temple. Traditional cultural values such as dum singing, folk games, and local history are effectively integrated into subjects. The contest " Discovering Quang Ninh: History, culture, people and development potential" has attracted a large number of students to participate, with hundreds of awards awarded, creating a positive effect in traditional education and fostering patriotism in students.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the town's education sector also made a clear mark with digital transformation activities and technology applications. 100% of schools have high-speed internet connections; many schools are equipped with smart learning software such as OLM, using electronic gradebooks and transcripts, and managing teaching with specialized software. 14/20 secondary schools have purchased VIP accounts for teachers to serve effective online teaching.

Quang Yen has always placed the task of building a team of teachers at the center. Last school year, hundreds of officials and teachers of the town received professional training, training in technology application skills, innovative teaching methods, and assessment. The town-level excellent teacher competition recognized 217 excellent teachers; 26 teachers won prizes in the provincial competition. In addition, many creative topics such as "Application of AI in teaching", "Organizing field experience activities", "Developing a reading culture"... have contributed to improving the professional quality of the teaching staff.

Although facing many challenges such as lack of teachers in some new subjects, limited facilities in some schools, but in these difficulties, the spirit of innovation, creativity, and overcoming difficulties of the entire education and training sector of Quang Yen is strongly promoted. The "sweet fruits" obtained are clear evidence of the perseverance, dedication, and determination of the management staff, teachers and students in the area.

The road ahead is full of opportunities, but also many challenges. However, with the foundation that has been built, with the spirit of dedication and creativity of the teaching staff and the support of the whole society, Quang Yen education will certainly continue to reap sweet fruits.
