The two characters José Arcadio and Úrsula are played by different actors, corresponding to each stage of maturity. However, the actors' smooth transformations help the characters appear vividly as if they stepped out of the pages of a book.
Susana Morales plays the young Úrsula, bringing freshness while Marleyda Soto portrays the old Úrsula, depicting depth and maturity through life events.
Likewise, both Marco González and Diego Vásquez have plenty of interesting moments, successfully portraying a somewhat eccentric character like José Arcadio.
