During the peak of the Lunar New Year holiday, the Trang An Heritage Site was constantly overcrowded, and had to temporarily stop admitting visitors during certain hours.

On February 22nd (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year), the Trang An Heritage Management Board ( Ninh Binh ) issued a notice advising tourists to consider adjusting their visiting times due to the overwhelming number of visitors in the morning.

The authorities stated that to ensure quality service and minimize long wait times, visitors should choose to visit during the afternoon hours for a more complete experience. After the morning peak, the number of visitors at the pier has gradually stabilized.

Previously, on February 20th (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), the facility also announced a temporary suspension of receiving new visitors that day due to the number of visitors exceeding its capacity. The online ticketing system was temporarily suspended during the Tet holiday, and many tourists who came to buy tickets in person had to queue for a long time, with some giving up halfway through.

The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ninh Binh during the Lunar New Year holiday. According to the local Department of Tourism, from the 27th day of the 12th lunar month to the 3rd day of the 1st lunar month (February 14-19), the province welcomed 1,362,408 visitors , including 1,133,148 domestic tourists and 229,260 international tourists. Revenue is estimated at over 2,040 billion VND .

Observations at other popular destinations such as Hoa Lu Ancient Town, Bai Dinh Pagoda, Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area, Thung Ui… show a significant increase in visitors from early morning.

At the Trang An boat dock, groups of boats glide one after another along the waterway between the limestone mountains. Tourists have to queue for 30-40 minutes to wait to visit many of the attractions.

Besides the traditional domestic market, the number of international visitors from India and many European countries has increased significantly, creating a multicultural atmosphere in this heritage land.

Visitors to Ninh Binh during this time not only offer incense to pray for peace but also experience new products such as eco-tourism, high-end resorts, and cultural and artistic programs at the beginning of spring.

Average spending and length of stay increased compared to the same period last year, contributing to tourism revenue surpassing 2 trillion VND in less than a week during the Tet holiday.

"Ninh Binh's goal is not only to welcome a large number of tourists during Tet but also to build an image of a safe and friendly destination, further affirming its position on the map of spring tourism in Northern Vietnam," Mr. Nguyen Cao Tan, Deputy Director of the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, told Tri Thuc - Znews.

Anticipating a significant increase in tourist numbers, Ninh Binh is implementing a series of comprehensive solutions, including strengthening inspections and monitoring of service prices, ensuring security and order, and improving the quality of service at tourist destinations.

According to Mr. Tan, the tourism industry has prepared in terms of infrastructure, accommodation facilities, human resources, and product diversification to welcome the wave of tourists at the beginning of the year. Service businesses are improving the quality of service in a professional and friendly manner.

Main roads leading to tourist areas and attractions are generally clear; authorities are increasing traffic management and regulation in crowded areas to minimize congestion.

The local tourism industry forecasts a potential 10-15% increase in visitor numbers compared to the same period last year, given the expanded tourism space following the merger and the introduction of many new products.

Accommodation providers are recording high occupancy rates but still have the capacity to meet demand. The tendency to book early is evident as many families and groups of friends proactively plan their spring vacations.

Representatives from the Department of Tourism noted that Ninh Binh has been considered a destination for spiritual tourism, heritage sites, and scenic landscapes for many years. Along a short travel route, tourists can combine visits to Trang An, Bai Dinh, Tam Coc, and many other cultural sites, fitting the trend of short trips.

Infrastructure connecting from Hanoi and regional transportation has improved, making 2-3 day trips more convenient. Besides the natural and cultural heritage sites, other tourist areas and attractions have also had their facilities upgraded to welcome visitors during the Tet holiday.
