According to the leader, the authorities have launched an investigation and are handling the case.
The controversial 35,000 VND bun cha (grilled pork with vermicelli) dish in Sam Son has been shared on social media by tourists.
Previously, information circulated on social media about a tourist traveling in Sam Son who went to a breakfast restaurant. However, the tourist was shocked and surprised to find that their bowl of vermicelli only contained two pieces of meatball and a small plate of vermicelli.
When tourists raised concerns, the restaurant representative responded that they were selling at the listed price, and also stated that a regular serving of vermicelli soup here only contains that exact amount of meatballs.
The customer then posted information and photos of the 35,000 VND bowl of bun cha on social media, sparking heated debates. Many sympathized with the restaurant, acknowledging the high cost of renting space in tourist areas, but most argued that 35,000 VND for just two grilled pork patties and a small plate of noodles was expensive.
The incident was later identified as having occurred at the D.P. restaurant on Le Thanh Tong Street, Trung Son Ward, Sam Son City, Thanh Hoa Province.
The image, when shared, sparked a heated debate on social media forums.
Mr. Thieu Nhu Huynh, Team Leader of Market Management Team No. 2, Thanh Hoa Market Management Department, said that after receiving information from the hotline regarding complaints from tourists, the unit sent forces to inspect the restaurant and found that it had all the necessary documents and prices were publicly displayed.
"Before eating, the owner clearly stated that the 35,000 VND portion only included what we had. Furthermore, the photos were missing vegetables and dipping sauce (pickled vegetables, garlic, chili), but the tourists only photographed the plate of bun cha and the bowl of sauce without the seasoning," Mr. Huynh informed.
