On the evening of October 22 in Hanoi , the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the third political contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2023 held an award ceremony for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements participating in the contest.

Also attending were comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35.
Comrade Truong Thi Mai and Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang presented the award to the author and group of authors who won the A prize.
The third political contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2023 was directed by the Central Steering Committee 35, assigned to the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to chair, coordinate with the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Theoretical Council,
Communist Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, and Vietnam Journalists Association organized this year's contest. This year's contest is very important, a highlight in the review of 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Politburo on "strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation".
The Party's ideological foundation is not dry, lofty, abstract theoretical issues.
In his speech, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Head of the Steering Committee of the Contest affirmed that the organization and successful implementation of the political contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation is one of the specific and vivid evidences for the creative, practical and meaningful implementation of Resolution No. 35 of the Politburo.
"I am very impressed with the third contest, which had the participation of more than 301 thousand entries in the categories of printed magazines, electronic magazines, printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television and various forms of works; the content of the works is rich; many works are of good quality; the authors and groups of authors participating in the contest belong to many different social classes, many different occupations, different ages; the oldest person is 101 years old and many are high school students, many ethnicities, religions both in the country and overseas Vietnamese, and foreigners who love Vietnam. This shows that the influence of the contest is very wide and profound.
From the reality of the Contest, it is clear that the Party's ideological foundation is not dry, lofty, abstract theoretical issues; protecting the Party's ideological foundation is protecting the Party's Platform, guidelines, policies, and the State's policies and laws; protecting the Party, protecting the regime, and protecting the people; protecting what is right and what is progressive; criticizing what is wrong and negative has become a regular, familiar activity, closely associated with the work of agencies, units, and the daily life of each cadre, party member, and each citizen," said comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang.
According to comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, the work of Party building, building the political system, protecting the Party's ideological foundation in general and organizing a political contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in particular need to focus on a number of contents: Regarding the content, it is necessary to continue to focus on steadfastly protecting, applying and creatively developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought; protecting and disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, the cause of innovation on the path to socialism in Vietnam; identifying and resolutely fighting against erroneous, hostile, and anti-Party, State and regime viewpoints.
At the same time, continue to encourage the summary and dissemination of good models, good practices, and good experiences in localities, agencies, and units in the organization to protect the Party's ideological foundation, and fight against erroneous and distorted views of hostile, reactionary, and opportunistic political forces.
Pay more attention to the connection between building and fighting, between protecting and supplementing, creatively developing the Party's ideological foundation, linking the identification, criticism and refuting of erroneous and hostile arguments; fighting fake news, bad news and toxic news with spreading positive information and focusing on self-examination, self-correction, self-prevention and combating manifestations of self-evolution and self-transformation within the Party; linking the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints with the work of building a clean, strong and comprehensive Party and political system with the effective implementation of professional work in each agency, unit, enterprise, organization and with the daily life of each family and each citizen; associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, with encouraging and protecting dynamic, creative people who dare to think, dare to speak, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, dare to innovate, dare to face difficulties and challenges and are determined in action for the common good.
The ideological foundation of our Party is essentially the revolutionary scientific ideology and theory of socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam. This is the light of truth that guides the Vietnamese revolution from one victory to another.

Speaking at the conclusion of the 2023 Competition and launching the fourth Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, stated that the Third Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation in 2023 was a great success. The contest has become a profound political activity, spreading widely in the political system, the whole society and even abroad. The success of this year's contest, along with the previous two years, 2021 and 2022, is vivid evidence affirming that Resolution 35 of the Politburo has truly come to life, has been implemented methodically, synchronously, effectively, creatively and has increasingly widespread influence.
In order for the 4th Political Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation to achieve better results, promote the successes that have been achieved, and replicate good experiences and good practices, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia said that it is necessary to constantly innovate creative thinking in thinking and doing, in which it is necessary to pay attention to implementing a number of contents:
First of all, it is necessary to continue to thoroughly understand the meaning, purpose, and requirements of the contest and the direction of the Central Steering Committee 35. Regularly consolidate and enhance the awareness and political belief of the majority of cadres, party members, and people in the party, the state, and the socialist regime. Focus on thoroughly understanding and effectively implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolutions of the Central Committee and the Politburo on Party building and rectification.
Continue to innovate the content, methods, and forms of protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the spirit of closely combining construction and prevention, in which construction is a fundamental, long-term strategic task, prevention is an important, urgent task, and must use positivity to push back negativity.
