On the morning of June 1st, Kenh 7 Prison, under the C10 Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) located in An Giang province, held a ceremony to announce the 2026 amnesty decision of the President of Vietnam for 108 inmates currently serving prison sentences at the facility.
Among the 108 inmates granted amnesty this time, the inmate with the longest remaining sentence is PVM (born in 1984, residing in Ho Chi Minh City), convicted of "Fraudulent appropriation of property," with a remaining sentence of 5 years, 5 months, and 26 days.
Over the past period, Kenh 7 Prison has always considered the education and rehabilitation of inmates as its top priority. The unit focuses on political , legal, moral, and lifestyle education; organizing labor, vocational training, and life skills development; and at the same time, paying attention to counseling, encouraging, and helping inmates stabilize their thoughts, clearly understand their mistakes, and have a proper direction for self-improvement.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Ta Duc Hoan, Superintendent of Kenh 7 Prison, emphasized: “Amnesty is a special policy of clemency of the State, reflecting the humanitarian tradition of the nation and opening up opportunities for those who have erred to reform. The Colonel requested that the pardoned prisoners, after returning to their localities, should strictly abide by the law, actively work, stabilize their lives, stay away from illegal activities, and strive to become useful members of their families and society.”
For the remaining inmates, Colonel Ta Duc Hoan encouraged them to continue their rehabilitation with peace of mind, strictly abide by the regulations of the detention facility, actively study, work, and cultivate moral character, overcome the consequences of their criminal acts, and view those who received amnesty as role models to strive for.
The announcement ceremony of the 2026 amnesty decision at Kenh 7 Prison not only opens up opportunities for 108 inmates to rebuild their lives, but also contributes to spreading the humanitarian values of the amnesty policy, affirming the effectiveness of the work of educating and rehabilitating inmates and the goal of rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.
