UNRWA affirms that children are the most vulnerable in conflicts and wars. Conflict has robbed many children in Gaza of their childhood. Some children have lost their lives, while those who survive suffer profound trauma as their schools are destroyed, depriving them of an entire year of learning and playing in peace.

The Israeli army announced it will temporarily suspend tactical military operations in parts of southern Gaza during the day to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid. In a statement, the Israeli army said the decision would be implemented along the route from the Kerem Shalom crossing to Salah al-Din and heading north. The suspension will be in effect from 8 am to 7 pm daily. This move by Israel comes amid warnings from international humanitarian organizations about the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The prospect of a ceasefire is fragile.

Qatar and Egypt plan to meet with Hamas representatives to urge the group to agree to the latest US proposal for a ceasefire with Israel. According to US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, mediators from Qatar and Egypt will soon negotiate with Hamas to advance the US-proposed ceasefire in Gaza. The US National Security Advisor also emphasized that US officials have carefully considered Hamas's response and believe there is still a chance to reach a ceasefire agreement.

However, efforts to promote a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip continue to face difficulties as Israel suffers heavy losses on the battlefield and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declares that Israel will adhere to the objectives of the conflict to defeat Hamas and bring hostages home.

According to reports, the Israeli army confirmed that eight of its soldiers were killed in an explosion in the city of Rafah, in southern Gaza. This is the deadliest incident for the Israeli army since January. The explosion occurred as a convoy carrying soldiers who had just finished an overnight attack on Hamas forces was traveling to buildings controlled by the Israeli army to rest.
