Punish hooliganism and maintain social peace.

Recently, social media has been flooded with heart-wrenching videos. From seemingly ordinary clashes or moments of anger, many people readily resort to violence, using their fists to resolve conflicts, turning minor issues into terrifying scenes of violence.

Recently, simply because a male delivery driver refused to let the recipient try out a grooming tool, the recipient became enraged, punched the driver in the nose, causing a bloody wound, and then grabbed a dog's leg and used it to hit the delivery driver. Another incident that disgusted the public involved a family dispute escalating into a legal violation. Refusing to return a borrowed car, the son-in-law stripped off his shirt and lay on the hood to prevent his father-in-law from driving away. In his anger, the father-in-law still pressed the accelerator and drove the car on a busy highway, disregarding the danger to his life. Both were subsequently prosecuted.

What worries many people is not only the recklessness of these actions, but also the lack of self-control that is gradually replacing courtesy in daily interactions. Just one moment of losing composure can lead to injury, legal trouble, and create a negative image for society.

Life's pressures can make people more prone to stress. The pressures of daily life, work, debt, and accumulated frustrations can easily lead to irritability. However, no amount of pressure can justify violent behavior and disregard for the law. More worrying is that these aggressive reactions are gradually becoming a familiar pattern of behavior for many. From school violence and child abuse to street fights, all of these incidents show that kindness and self-control are eroding. When people become more quick-tempered, society becomes more insecure.

In the face of such thuggish behavior, swift intervention and strict handling by authorities are essential. The individuals involved in the two aforementioned incidents have had their cases documented and have been prosecuted according to the law. This decisive action has received public approval and should be continued, because the law must be strict enough to make everyone understand that violence is never a minor issue in daily interactions. A society that upholds the rule of law must protect the innocent, severely punish the guilty, and prevent thuggery from overshadowing civility.

However, laws alone are not enough. Sanctions can punish and deter, but to prevent violence at its root, society needs more. To reduce street fights, perhaps we must start with how people are taught to treat each other from a young age. A child who knows how to apologize, how to be considerate, and how to remain calm when angry is less likely to grow up with the habit of using fists to resolve conflicts. The family must be a place that nurtures kindness and tolerance in daily interactions. On social media, inflammatory or gleeful comments about violence need to be replaced with clear condemnation and civilized behavior. On the streets, sometimes just one calm person intervening can prevent a fight or a tragic incident.

A safe society is not only maintained by strict sentences, but also by people showing respect, restraint, and treating each other kindly every day.
