In 2025, the trade union organizations at all levels in Lai Chau province closely followed the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, effectively implementing the theme of the year "Focus on developing union membership; participate in building a clean and strong Party," achieving many outstanding results.

The province currently has 10 higher-level trade unions directly under the grassroots level, 762 grassroots trade unions, with over 23,000 workers and employees. The work of representing and protecting workers' rights has been strengthened. 100% of enterprises with grassroots trade unions organize employee conferences and workplace dialogues. During the year, trade unions at all levels participated in 193 inspections and supervisions regarding the regulations and 558 regarding trade union finances, contributing to building harmonious and stable labor relations.

Activities focused on improving the lives of union members continued to be a highlight. During the Lunar New Year of 2025, trade unions at all levels provided 10,370 gift packages worth a total of 4.6 billion VND; during Workers' Month, they provided 2,560 gift packages worth over 906 million VND. Many practical welfare programs were implemented, notably 10,000 free test samples for union members (worth 570 million VND) and the commencement of construction of a housing facility for medical staff worth 1.1 billion VND.

Emphasis is placed on building trade union organizations. By 2025, the province aims to recruit 360 new union members and establish 6 grassroots trade unions; simultaneously, it will implement restructuring and streamlining of the organizational apparatus in accordance with the general policies of the Party and the State. By 2025, 19 out of 20 targets will be met or exceeded, completing 100% of the 2025 work program.

In 2026, the Lai Chau Provincial Trade Union will continue to focus on developing union membership, improving the quality of grassroots trade unions, caring for the lives of workers, promoting patriotic emulation, and contributing to building a strong trade union organization and the socio-economic development of the province…

During the conference, delegates focused on the performance of grassroots trade unions, highlighting difficulties and obstacles encountered in implementing trade union activities; they also proposed several key tasks for 2026 to ensure that trade union movements become increasingly effective.

Delivering a directive speech at the conference, Comrade Tong Thanh Binh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lai Chau province - acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Provincial Labor Union in the past year. For 2026, he requested that the Provincial Labor Union proactively develop and issue the resolution program of the 14th Lai Chau Provincial Labor Union Congress, term 2025-2030; establish working regulations and assign tasks to leaders to ensure uniformity; coordinate and effectively implement tasks assigned by the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; coordinate the organization of Tet activities for union members; strengthen monitoring of public opinion, the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers; regularly gather information, identify, and combat false, hostile, and distorted information about workers and labor unions…

On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded Certificates of Merit to one collective and one individual for outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement in 2025. The Provincial Confederation of Labor awarded Emulation Flags to three collectives for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for excellent labor and building strong trade union organizations in 2025; Certificates of Merit to two collectives and 26 individuals for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for excellent labor and building strong trade union organizations in 2025; Certificates of Merit to 11 individuals for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Excellent in national work, responsible in family work" in 2025; and Certificates of Merit to one collective and six individuals for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene" in 2025. Certificates of merit were awarded to 9 individuals who achieved outstanding results in the "Culture and Sports" emulation movement in 2025.
