(To Quoc) - On the morning of November 22nd, the photo exhibition "Ethnic minorities are equal, united, dynamic, creative, building and developing Ho Chi Minh City into a civilized, modern, and compassionate city" officially opened at Nguyen Hue Walking Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

The photo exhibition is one of the opening activities within the framework of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Ho Chi Minh City in 2024, scheduled to take place on December 5th and 6th.

In his opening remarks at the exhibition, Huynh Van Hong Ngoc, Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, stated that through each Party Congress, the Party and State have always paid attention to ethnic minorities, fostering a spirit of unity and camaraderie among ethnic groups. The contributions and suggestions made at these Congresses have helped to refine policies, creating conditions for ethnic minorities to develop economically , improve their living standards, and promote and spread the beauty of their traditional culture.

The exhibition displays 83 images collected and presented according to three themes. The first part, themed "Ethnic Minority People for a Peaceful , Independent, and Unified Vietnam," introduces precious images of President Ho Chi Minh – the initiator, builder, and devoted caretaker of national unity. The ethnic minority people express their love and respect for Uncle Ho, their unwavering and boundless faith in the Party and the State, and their steadfast loyalty to the Party and Uncle Ho, participating in the revolutionary struggle and contributing to the cause of national liberation and reunification.

Part 2, themed "53 Ethnic Minorities United in Developing the City," showcases the image of the ethnic communities of Ho Chi Minh City with their resilient revolutionary traditions, their efforts to overcome difficulties, their unity, dynamism, creativity, and collective efforts "together with the whole country, for the whole country," achieving many accomplishments and successes in building, renovating, and developing the city and the country.

Part 3, themed "Ho Chi Minh City Congress of Ethnic Minorities - A Grand Festival for Ethnic Communities," presents some representative images from the first Ho Chi Minh City Congress in 2009, the second in 2014, the third in 2019, and images from district-level congresses leading up to the fourth Congress in 2024.

While touring the exhibition, Ms. Nong Thi Phong (of the Tay ethnic group) emotionally shared, "The images at the exhibition reflect the concern of the Party, the State, and all levels of government for ethnic minority communities." She also expressed her hope for "further attention and policies and support for ethnic minorities."

Attending the opening ceremony and visiting the exhibition for the first time, Ms. May-xa-mah (of the Cham ethnic group) said, "I am very happy and moved. I never expected that a member of a small ethnic minority living in Ho Chi Minh City would still receive such attention and respect. I feel important, even though I am just an ordinary citizen, and yet the government still cares about me and invites me to attend the exhibition." This was also the feeling of Ms. Jagoardjack when she saw for the first time, "I was very happy and moved to see images of President Ho Chi Minh that I had never seen before."
