On May 25th, Team 3 of the Market Management Department (Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Sub-department), in coordination with Team 6 of the Economic Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police, inspected several businesses in Cho Lon and Long Truong wards, Ho Chi Minh City, and discovered numerous violations.
Specifically, during an inspection of a business in Cho Lon ward, the task force discovered a large quantity of goods suspected of being counterfeit versions of famous brands protected in Vietnam such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Dior, Hermes, Rolex, etc., including clothing, shoes, bags, and watches of various types. The business owner could not produce invoices or documents proving the legal origin of the goods.

The inspection team temporarily seized 1,913 products. The case has been transferred to the investigative agency for further verification and processing in accordance with the law.
The business owner confessed to importing counterfeit goods of famous brands through online contacts on social media to sell directly at their store and online via Facebook, Zalo, and TikTok for illicit profit. Extraction of electronic data, bank statements, and accounting documents shows that from the beginning of 2024 to the present, the suspects have profited more than 4.5 billion VND.
The shop owner admitted knowing that the goods were counterfeit, violating intellectual property rights, harmful to consumer health, and prohibited by law, but still deliberately engaged in the activity for high profits. To evade authorities, the owner used many sophisticated methods to conceal the crime. The shop was frequently closed; goods were delivered via couriers, with no direct transactions with customers.
At a business establishment in Long Truong ward, authorities discovered an exceptionally large quantity of thousands of counterfeit shoes, sandals, and socks bearing the trademarks of famous brands protected in Vietnam, such as Nike, Adidas, and Converse. All of the goods were unused, had original labels in foreign languages but lacked supplementary labels in Vietnamese, and lacked invoices or documentation. The trademarks and logos were affixed/printed directly onto the products and could not be peeled off or removed. The total value of the goods was nearly 2.9 billion VND.

Representatives of the Adidas, Nike, and Converse brands, after directly examining and photographing the aforementioned goods, participated in and witnessed the inspection process and confirmed that all of the goods were counterfeit.
The owner admitted to having been in business since June 2023, with goods purchased from unknown sources online, and sold primarily through social media platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, and TikTok.
The inspection team sealed and temporarily seized all the goods to continue the investigation and handle the case according to the law.
