Lam Dong province is preparing to establish three new wards.

Based on the results of a voter consultation with a high rate of consensus, Lam Dong province is finalizing the documents to establish three new wards in Duc Trong, Ham Thuan Nam, and Cu Jut districts.

In implementing the urban administrative unit development plan for 2026, Lam Dong province is deploying a project to establish new wards in eligible areas. According to the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Internal Affairs, the relevant localities have organized consultations with voters representing households before finalizing the dossiers for submission to competent authorities for consideration.

Through consultations, the policy of establishing wards received high consensus in all three localities. Specifically, in Duc Trong commune, 18,205 out of 18,301 voters agreed, reaching 99.4%. In Ham Thuan Nam commune, 7,133 out of 7,135 voters approved, reaching 99.97%. In Cu Jut commune, 9,291 out of 9,535 voters agreed, reaching 97.44%.

After consulting with the people, the People's Councils of Duc Trong, Ham Thuan Nam, and Cu Jut communes held meetings and passed resolutions approving the establishment of wards based on the current administrative boundaries. This serves as the basis for the province to further refine the project dossier according to regulations.

Along with the results of the voter consultation, the localities proposing the establishment of wards also had their conditions and standards reviewed according to regulations on urban administrative units. According to the specialized agency, all of these localities meet the current standards for developing proposals to establish wards.

The project proposal was developed according to prescribed procedures, including reviewing conditions, soliciting public opinion, approval by the commune-level People's Council, and finalizing the dossier for submission to the competent authority for consideration. The project dossier is currently being compiled and finalized by the Provincial People's Committee in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Organization of Local Government 2025.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the establishment of new wards is in line with the local urban development orientation in the current period. This is also one of the contents of the province's urban administrative unit development plan for 2026.

Consequently, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council to add the matter of considering and deciding on the establishment of three new wards at the 3rd Session of the 11th Provincial People's Council, scheduled to be held at the end of May 2026.

After being reviewed by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council, the dossier for the establishment of three new wards will be further refined and submitted to the competent authority for decision in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
