Dylan faced many obstacles upon returning to his family's company.
"The Bloodline Joke" continues to escalate the drama as Dylan (played by Tran Nhat Hao) finds himself in a difficult situation, simultaneously facing a career crisis and the mental pressure of confronting his past.
Specifically, while Dylan was ill, his AI project – the foundation of his technological ambitions – unexpectedly suffered heavy losses, causing the stock price to plummet. This was not only a financial blow but also a psychological one, forcing him to return to VnReal, confront his father who had betrayed his mother and abandoned him, in order to regain his position.
Dylan's half-brother is the one pulling the strings behind sabotaging his project.
Dylan's sudden arrival at the company caused internal turmoil, gradually revealing the hidden forces manipulating things from behind the scenes, most notably Director Toan – Mrs. Hong's (Phuc An) right-hand man.
Behind the AI project's downfall lies the hand of Duc Bui, Dylan's half-brother who harbors resentment. Duc not only deliberately sabotaged the AI project to harm Dylan but also as part of his strategy to seize the inheritance from Mr. Dai.
Dylan didn't know that his father had truly regretted his actions and wanted to bequeath the inheritance to him.
Viewers of "The Bloodline Joke" also witnessed a cruel and cold-hearted side of Mrs. Hong when she readily blamed her son.
Furthermore, the confrontation between Dylan and Mr. Dai at the villa further highlighted the conflict between father and son. When Dylan offered $10 million for the chairman's position, Mr. Dai flatly refused, asserting that true value must come from competence.
From here, Dylan's journey is not just about reclaiming his inheritance, but also about seeking revenge for the wounds buried in his past.
Dylan flatly refused when Tra My confessed her feelings.
In another development, Dylan's best friend, Tra My (Song Duong), unexpectedly confesses her feelings to him at a vulnerable moment, only to receive a firm rejection. In contrast to this clear-cut situation, there's a vague yet captivating relationship between Dylan and Bao Ngoc (Le Khanh Linh).
Intimate moments, like when she quietly turns off the camera to protect him or the glances they exchange when they meet, all reveal genuine feelings. However, Bao Ngoc's juggling treatment with a mission from Mrs. Hong – which drives Dylan insane – pushes this relationship into a conflict. It is this intertwining of true emotions and calculated actions that makes Dylan's love story a dramatic highlight, where love can be both salvation and the most dangerous trap.
"The Bloodline Joke" is still airing at 7:30 PM every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday on HTV7 channel.
