Rich, quality
Hai Phong City is currently the largest high-tech agricultural production area in the North. In the west (formerly Hai Duong province), the city has 93.5 hectares of greenhouses applying the most modern techniques, growing many types of melons and vegetables. The most prominent is the melon that has been widely consumed in supermarkets and hotels throughout the S-shaped strip of land.
Also in the west, thanks to the alluvium from the Thai Binh , Kinh Thay, Kinh Mon, Luoc rivers..., Hai Phong City has owned thousands of fertile hectares, cultivating typical, famous, and unique agricultural products that are rarely found elsewhere such as: carrots, onions, garlic, guava, custard-apple, cassava, lychee, longan... Up to now, about 15,000 hectares of vegetables, 17,000 hectares of fruit trees in the west of the city are being produced according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP standards, of which 1,500 hectares have met VietGAP/GlobalGAP standards.
Thanh Ha litchi is considered one of the famous products. Every year, when litchi ripens, tourists from all over flock to visit, experience and enjoy.
Not only famous domestically, the unique appearance and flavor of Thanh Ha litchi has now attracted many tourists and purchasing businesses from abroad. Of the more than 60,000 tons of Thanh Ha litchi sold in the market in the 2025 litchi crop, up to 90% of the output is exported abroad, including many countries that are always strict and demanding in terms of appearance, quality, and food safety such as Japan, the US, Australia, etc.
Hai Phong carrots with an average output of 63,000 tons/year have a relatively stable position in many countries such as Korea, Japan, Thailand, and some European countries...
In the east, Hai Phong City has emerged as a dynamically developing industrial zone, seaport, and tourism area, but also has more than 7,000 hectares of fruit trees, many areas are produced according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards with a scale of 20 - 30 hectares/area. There are many quality agricultural products, famous in the market such as Bang La apples, Lien Khe custard apples, Vinh Bao pear guavas, Lam Dong grapefruits, Ky Son cucumbers, Bat Trang dragon fruit...
Many agricultural products in the east of the city are of good quality, beautiful in design, and have a place in the market. The new Hai Phong City currently has 647 OCOP products, most of which are agricultural products or processed agricultural products.
The area of clean, high-quality agricultural products in Hai Phong is expanding. Typical, characteristic agricultural products not only contribute to promoting and spreading good images of the land and people of the city to domestic and international friends but also increasingly create greater value, bringing a more prosperous life to the people.
Fly away

Lychee, carrots and some typical agricultural products of Hai Phong City have basically established a firm foothold in the market. Many other agricultural products are consumed well domestically but cannot be exported.
The scale of production areas for some agricultural products is not large, unstable, and has not applied scientific, technical, and high-tech advances. Product quality, especially the amount of chemical residue, has not met export standards. There are not many enterprises investing in the agricultural sector, and there is a lack of large-scale export processing zones to motivate farmers to participate in developing concentrated production areas. Support and attraction policies for the agricultural sector are available but not large enough...
The above difficulties are expected to be resolved by Hai Phong in the near future. A representative of the city's Department of Agriculture and Environment said that after the merger, the department is focusing on building and advising on programs and projects to develop concentrated commodity agriculture.
The main goal is to soon change the agricultural production model from small-scale to concentrated, encourage farmers to accumulate land, not leave fields fallow, and avoid waste. Promote the application of mechanization and high technology in production.
For agricultural products that have affirmed their brand and position in the market, we will advise on policies to support farmers in communication, expand sales channels, innovate product packaging designs, and increase value.
The Department will advise the city to issue policies to support the development of high-tech agriculture in accordance with its current potential and strengths. In the future, Hai Phong agricultural products will not only ensure productivity but also product quality, meeting the needs of domestic consumers and aiming to expand export markets.
If all goes well, it is expected that many policies for developing high-tech agriculture will be approved by Hai Phong City in 2026. This will be a big boost for many famous agricultural products of the city to fly far and wide.
