The Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) has just awarded prizes to two lucky Viettel subscribers who won the Jackpot 1 jackpot in the Power 6/55 lottery worth 36.7 billion VND and the Lotto 5/35 jackpot worth 10.2 billion VND.
Through verification of the lottery business data system and accompanying personal records, Vietlott has confirmed that Mr. NVM - a Viettel subscriber registered to participate in the draw in Thanh Hoa province - won the Power 6/55 Jackpot 1 in draw number 1,253, and Mr. P.Đ.L won the Lotto 5/35 jackpot in draw number 209.
Mr. NVM is currently living and running his own business in Thanh Hoa. Mr. M shared that he has a habit of buying about 3-4 lottery tickets every day and choosing numbers randomly; the winning numbers are the random numbers he chooses for that day.
While on his way home from work, Mr. M received a text message notifying him of his winnings, but he paid attention to the prize amount. Upon arriving home, he checked the text message and the winning numbers and discovered he had won the Power 6/55 Jackpot 1.

“At that time, I couldn't contain my excitement and joy, but I didn't dare tell my family yet. It wasn't until the next morning, when Vietlott announced it on their official fanpage and I called the Vietlott hotline to verify, that I officially informed my family. My family didn't believe it at first, but after I went to claim the prize, they believed it was real. Everyone in the family was so happy they couldn't sleep that night,” Mr. M said.
Speaking about his plans for the prize money, Mr. M said he will use it to take care of his parents' lives, and then balance his spending so as not to affect the lives of other family members. In addition, Mr. M will dedicate a portion to social welfare activities to share his good fortune with the community.
Mr. P.Đ.L currently lives and works in the construction industry in Ha Tinh province.
Mr. L said that the lottery draw he won was on Saturday noon, but because he plays regularly and often wins smaller prizes, he didn't pay attention to the winning notification. That evening, he went out to eat with friends and didn't check the information. After waking up, he browsed Facebook and saw the information about someone winning the jackpot, so he opened the app to check and found out that he was the lucky winner.
Mr. L plans to use the prize money to expand his business and share his good fortune with the community.
At the awards ceremony, the two winners donated a total of 550 million VND to support areas affected by floods and natural disasters through the Tam Tai Viet Fund.
According to regulations, Mr. NVM is obligated to pay personal income tax in Thanh Hoa province, where he registered to participate in the prize draw, on a total value of over 3.6 billion VND, and Mr. P.D.L must pay tax on over 1 billion VND (10% of the value exceeding 10 million VND), which will be deducted immediately upon receiving the prize.
