China launches AI that resembles the human brain 100 times faster ChatGPT

The Chinese-developed AI model SpikingBrain 1.0 runs 100 times faster than ChatGPT, consumes less energy and uses domestic MetaX chips.

Researchers at the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing have just announced SpikingBrain 1.0, an AI model inspired by the human brain.

What's special is that this system runs on a MetaX chip developed by China itself instead of depending on NVIDIA.

According to testing, SpikingBrain 1.0 can process 100 times faster than traditional AI models.

The model only needs less than 2% of the training data compared to ChatGPT but still achieves superior performance.

“Pulse computing” technology helps this AI save energy by only activating when needed.

The team developed two versions, a 7 billion parameter version and a large 76 billion parameter version.

The system has been running stably for weeks on hundreds of MetaX chips manufactured in Shanghai.

Potential applications range from medical and forensic analysis to scientific research and DNA sequencing.
