Phu Ly City Medical Center has a total of 138 cadres, civil servants and employees, including 45 cadres working at the center and 93 cadres assigned to work at 21 ward and commune health stations. The center's Party cell has 31 party members. In the process of performing the task of providing primary health care for the people; implementing disease prevention and control as well as implementing health goals, the cadres, employees, doctors and nurses of the center always uphold the role of people's doctors, completing well the assigned tasks. To effectively implement the tasks, the center does a good job of advising, developing plans for the development of the health sector, the work of caring for and protecting the health of the people in the area; developing action plans for each week, month, quarter and year of the unit. For specific work contents, they all closely follow the direction of the industry and the reality at the grassroots level to have effective activities. The unit proactively advises on documents implementing activities on disease prevention and control in the city; organizes training on disease prevention, expanded vaccination, non-communicable diseases for medical staff in villages and groups; coordinates the investigation and monitoring of suspected cases and cases of infectious diseases such as whooping cough, dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, measles, rubella, Covid-19 ...; coordinates the investigation and monitoring of dengue fever vectors at units with patients and outbreaks.

The propaganda work to raise people's awareness of measures to prevent and control diseases, eat scientifically , live healthily, etc. is always of interest. Accordingly, the center coordinates with local departments and organizations to organize environmental sanitation campaigns, especially when there is an epidemic. The image of medical staff regardless of their days off, "going to every alley, knocking on every door" to propagate and distribute leaflets on disease prevention, spraying chemicals to kill mosquitoes, and cleaning the environment after floods is greatly admired by the people for their working spirit... To ensure people's health, the center directs staff to strengthen monitoring and supervision of clean water and household latrines in the area. Currently, 100% of households have latrines, of which 98.8% have hygienic latrines; 99.99% of households have access to hygienic water.

The expanded vaccination for children of all ages at health stations is always carried out effectively, maintaining routine on the 25th and 2-3rd of every month; well organizing supplementary vaccinations, and sweeping vaccinations according to the direction of the superior sector. Twice a year, the center organizes vitamin A supplements for children to supplement micronutrients and prevent malnutrition. In 2024, the whole city will have 99.6% of children vaccinated against tetanus, 94% of children vaccinated against neonatal hepatitis B, and 96.7% of children fully vaccinated.

Effectively implementing the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, up to now, in the city, there are nearly 1,700 patients with high blood pressure, 930 patients with diabetes, 505/651 patients with mental illness who are regularly managed, examined and given medicine. Every year, the center regularly organizes screening for high blood pressure and diabetes for people ≥ 40 years old; organizes and coordinates community examinations, treatment and prevention of blindness for people. In 2024, nearly 50,600 people had their blood pressure measured; 38,521 people were screened for diabetes using a questionnaire; eye examinations were conducted for over 2,200 people; cataract surgery was performed for 205 people and entropion surgery for 97 people, etc.

In addition, over the past years, the city's health sector has paid attention to food safety, contributing to ensuring people's health. With 828 food processing and trading establishments under the city's management, Phu Ly City Health Center has strengthened coordination in inspecting and supervising food safety and food poisoning activities; promoted propaganda for people and facility owners to raise their sense of responsibility in complying with food safety regulations.
