Can Tho City Political School achieves Level 1 standard after 5 months of merger.

Less than five months after the merger, the Can Tho City Political School was officially recognized as meeting Level 1 standards and is one of the leading political schools nationwide in terms of training scale and high-quality human resources.

On the afternoon of December 25th, the Can Tho City Political School solemnly held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing it as a Level 1 standard school and a conference to implement tasks for 2026. This is an important milestone, affirming the school's position in the national system of political schools after the merger of provinces and cities.

Since its establishment on July 1, 2025, based on the merger of the political schools of Soc Trang , Hau Giang provinces and the former Can Tho city, in less than 5 months, the school has completed 100% of the criteria (55/55 indicators) according to Regulation No. 11-QD/TW of the Secretariat of the Central Committee on standard political schools.

In particular, 14 indicators exceeded the standard, approaching level 2. A highlight of the Can Tho City Political School is its high-quality human resources, with 15 PhDs and 68 Master's degree holders (including 14 doctoral candidates). The scale of training is also among the top in the country; by 2025, the school had organized training and refresher courses for a total of 76 classes with over 4,500 students, exceeding the plan by 11.2%. Notably, surveys show that over 98% of units employing the school's staff rated the quality of training as "very good".

Currently, the Can Tho City Political School is one of the leading schools nationwide in terms of high-quality human resources, with 15 PhDs and 68 Master's degree holders (including 14 doctoral candidates).

Furthermore, the Can Tho City Political School also has many excellent and innovative models to improve the quality of training and education. For example, the "Innovative Teaching - Active Learning - Progressive Results" model concretizes the innovative motto from the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy: "Student-centered, school-based, and lecturer-driven." Or the "Clear Thinking - Open Action - Effective Innovation" model gradually transforms methods from "administrative management" to "development management"... After the merger, the school also coordinated the implementation of the "Digital Ambassador Team" model, deploying 200 digital ambassadors to communes, wards, hamlets, and areas to popularize digital skills, contributing to a breakthrough in Can Tho City's digital transformation...

Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Loan, Principal of the Can Tho City Political School, stated that, as of now, the school has achieved or is close to achieving Level 2 standards for 56 out of 64 targets. This is an important practical basis for building the school to meet Level 2 standards in accordance with the "Development Plan for the Can Tho City Political School in the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2045". Furthermore, it reflects the determination to build the Can Tho City Political School into a training institution for cadres with strong political theory combined with practical application, contributing to making Can Tho City a driving force for development in the Mekong Delta region…

At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, affirmed that building the Can Tho City Political School to meet standards is not only the school's responsibility but also a crucial political task for the entire city's Party Committee. Mr. Huyen emphasized that, in the context of Can Tho striving to become a national growth pole and aiming to be among the group of moderately developed cities in Asia, cadre training must be considered the "root" and foundation for all development.

In particular, the Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee conveyed to the school's staff and lecturers five core keywords as a guiding principle for their actions: "Sharpness – Courage – Unity – Sincerity – Effectiveness".

In this context, sharpness means being proficient in reasoning and sharp in teaching methods; fortitude means being steadfast in the face of all temptations and decisive in policy advice; unity means unity based on frank criticism to achieve consensus in thinking and action; sincerity means building a friendly learning environment to foster creativity instead of creating pressure to cope; and finally, effectiveness means that all activities must be substantive, from quantity to quality.

Emphasizing the need for strong innovation, the application of digital technology, and digital transformation in management, administration, teaching, and learning, the Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee "commissioned" the school to conduct scientific research projects with high practical application, closely aligned with the local development reality, instead of purely theoretical topics. At the same time, he expressed his hope that the Can Tho City Political School would realize its new slogan, "Innovation from thinking and effectiveness from action," and would be determined to complete the roadmap to achieve Level 2 standards by November 20, 2027, creating a special milestone midway through the Party Congress term.

According to the plan, in 2026, the Can Tho City Political School aims to organize 35 intermediate-level political theory training classes; provide training for 102 classes with 6,326 students; complete and expand the "Innovative Teaching - Active Learning - Progressive Results" model; implement 4 city-level scientific research projects and strengthen the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation; and have at least 10 reports on research results, consultations, and advice for the City Party Committee on the implementation of resolutions, projects, programs, and plans of the city…

Also at the ceremony, Dr. Tran Thanh Sang, Vice Principal of the Can Tho City Political School, was honored to receive the Third-Class Labor Medal, and two collectives were honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.
